During the Marvel Games Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Disney Interactive unveiled the first set of Marvel Villains playable characters to be part of the second wave of the ‘Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition’ roll-out: Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy, Green Goblin from Spider-Man and the infamous Loki, God of Mischief from The Avengers. Whether it’s flexing their unstoppable powers for all things evil in their respective Play Sets, the updated Toy Box 2.0, or the newly added structured Toy Box Games, these Super Villains are forces to be reckoned with.

‘Disney Infinity’ Hands-On Review, Part Three: San Diego Comic-Con

Disney Infnity Loki FigureThis time around with ‘Disney Infinity 2.0,’ I have been blessed with the opportunity to preview the game several times over the past couple of months and this past week at San Diego Comic-Con I had the additional pleasure of checking it out every day of the con that the pop-up shop was open, including the special Disney D23 event with Alex Hirsch of ‘Gravity Falls.’ I also had the larger pleasure of talking with a few of the folks on the development team and gained additional insight into the game.

‘Disney Infinity 2.0′ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Play Set, Power Discs (Photos, Screens)

At San Diego Comic-Con, Disney Interactive today announced the next chapter in its upcoming ‘Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition)’ — the Guardians of the Galaxy play set, inspired by the Marvel film of the same name, in theaters on August 1, 2014.

The Guardians of the Galaxy play set follows Star-Lord and his fellow Guardians as they arrive at Knowhere, having just stolen a powerful cosmic object from the villainous Ronan the Accuser. Players will guide the team as they race to protect Knowhere from Ronan and his attacking Sakaaran fleet while keeping their newly liberated item safe from the villain’s evil grasp.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Cameos, Hints at MCU’s Future (Heavy Spoilers)

'Guardians of the Galaxy' Teaser PosterWalt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with the full, credited cast list for Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014) and while we don’t see any big surprises in terms of who will show (or not show) their face in the film, we do have role names for them, hinting at where they can be spotted throughout the film. Also is a mention of a particular property which will definitely ruffle some feathers.

If you don’t like spoilers, this is definitely the post to skip.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Deluxe, Mix Soundtracks Details Announced

'Guardians of the Galaxy' Deluxe SoundtrackMarvel and Hollywood Records have announced three editions of the official original motion picture soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014) available on July 29, 2014: ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Deluxe’ soundtrack features classic 1970s songs from the film plus the score by composer Tyler Bates ; ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1′ is the collection of 12 songs including Blue Swede’s ‘Hooked on a Feeling,’ ‘I’m Not in Love’ by 10cc, Redbone’s ‘Come and Get Your Love,’ and The Runaways’ ‘Cherry Bomb;’ and Guardians of the Galaxy digital score soundtrack. The soundtrack is currently available for pre-order from Amazon.

In addition to the nearly fifteen minute preview which involved the Guardians being incarcerated in — and subsequently breaking out of — the Klyn, the preview concluded with a new extended trailer which even includes a bona fide clip. 'Guardians of the Galaxy' IMAX Sneak Peek PosterWalt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with several ‘fun facts’ regarding their upcoming film, Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1. 2014). Additionally, we have been given a hi-res version of the film’s IMAX sneak-peek poster that will be provided to attendees of the upcoming 17-minute look at the film at participating theaters throughout North America on July 7. While some cities have already run out of the free tickets, many cities are still available here.
