Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy continues to dominate the box office while promotion is already beginning for its sequel and in-between all that, the stills won’t stop coming. Walt Disney Studios have provided us with 17 newly released stills in high resolution and — as with the last batch — there will be spoilers contained among the rest of the photos from the gorgeous film. If you still haven’t seen the film, you probably won’t want to go any further than this.
Disney Interactive today announced that Donald Duck will be the next of the Disney Originals characters to appear as a Toy Box playable in Disney Infinity 2.0. Donald joins other Disney and Pixar characters recently announced for the second generation of ‘Disney Infinity 2.0,’ such as Merida, Maleficent, Stitch, Tinker Bell, Aladdin and Jasmine.
It may be debatable to call it a spoiler when the film has already been out for a week, but just in case you’re one of the few that hasn’t already seen Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters, you will probably not want to look at many of the dozens of new hi-res stills provided to us by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios — you have been warned.
Unbelievable sights, indescribable feelings — both of these descriptors could easily apply to ‘Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition’ from everything we’ve seen so far, but now Disney Interactive has introduced a whole new wave of Toy Box playables: Aladdin and Jasmine.
With a scimitar and a magic lamp at his disposal, Aladdin’s (available fall 2014) brand of action is the answer to all your ‘Disney Infinity’ Toy Box 2.0 wishes. You’ll want to seek out this diamond in the rough. A proven fan favorite, Aladdin has consistently been one of the most requested characters since Disney Infinity was released last year.
Given that the tree-like lead in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy stays true to character and speaks only three words in a specific sequence — i.e., ‘I am Groot,’ — it would probably be fascinating enough to watch and listen to actor Vin Diesel record the lines with various inflections. That just wasn’t enough for Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios, however, who have shared with us this video of Diesel recording the line, not in English, but in Brazilian Portugese, Latin American Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian and French. Recorded at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, Diesel sports stilts to help him get into character in the following B-roll footage. (Links in previous statement go directly to the :30 international spots featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy dubbed in the various languages, which include Diesel’s performances.
After a bit of a dry spell, Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have now provided us with dozens of high resolution versions of newly released stills from Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014). The new images have been added to the beginning of our gallery, embedded below.
Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with the full, credited cast list for Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014) and while we don’t see any big surprises in terms of who will show (or not show) their face in the film, we do have role names for them, hinting at where they can be spotted throughout the film. Also is a mention of a particular property which will definitely ruffle some feathers.
If you don’t like spoilers, this is definitely the post to skip.
During the Marvel Games Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Disney Interactive unveiled the first set of Marvel Villains playable characters to be part of the second wave of the ‘Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition’ roll-out: Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy, Green Goblin from Spider-Man and the infamous Loki, God of Mischief from The Avengers. Whether it’s flexing their unstoppable powers for all things evil in their respective Play Sets, the updated Toy Box 2.0, or the newly added structured Toy Box Games, these Super Villains are forces to be reckoned with.
This time around with ‘Disney Infinity 2.0,’ I have been blessed with the opportunity to preview the game several times over the past couple of months and this past week at San Diego Comic-Con I had the additional pleasure of checking it out every day of the con that the pop-up shop was open, including the special Disney D23 event with Alex Hirsch of ‘Gravity Falls.’ I also had the larger pleasure of talking with a few of the folks on the development team and gained additional insight into the game.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Disney Interactive today announced the next chapter in its upcoming ‘Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition)’ — the Guardians of the Galaxy play set, inspired by the Marvel film of the same name, in theaters on August 1, 2014.
The Guardians of the Galaxy play set follows Star-Lord and his fellow Guardians as they arrive at Knowhere, having just stolen a powerful cosmic object from the villainous Ronan the Accuser. Players will guide the team as they race to protect Knowhere from Ronan and his attacking Sakaaran fleet while keeping their newly liberated item safe from the villain’s evil grasp.
