On Friday, March 30, Disney Junior will premiere its first ever crossover episode featuring Handy Manny (voice of Wilmer Valderrama) and Special Agent Oso (voice of Sean Astin) in ‘The Manny with the Golden Bear.’ The half hour special episode will premiere on Disney Channel at 12:00 pm ET/PT with replays on the brand new Disney Junior Channel. In the episode, Handy Manny and his tools visit Special Agent Oso to help him fix a broken bicycle.

Disney Junior has provided us with these first look images from the special episode along with two clips from the show.

In the first clip, Manny and his Tools are introduced to Oso by a mutual friend, David. Oso wishes to help David to learn how to ride his bike, but first Manny and his Tools must fix it.

Meanwhile in the next clip, Manny and the Tools have hitched a ride aboard Oso’s Whirly Bird so they can visit Kelly’s Hardware Shop, but run into a little misunderstanding along the way.

‘The Manny with the Golden Bear’ was written by Krista Tucker, from a story by John Loy and Ford Riley. The episode was directed by Jamie Mitchell.

Disney Channel Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Handy Manny Special, New Oso, Interstitials

PHOTO © DISNEY JUNIORDisney Channel celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month beginning Thursday, September 15 with a host of original programming, including kid-focused interstitials highlighting family heritage and cultural traditions. A brand new “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue” special, featuring guest stars Ed O’Neill (“Modern Family”), Freddy Rodriguez (“Ugly Betty”), George Takei (“Star Trek”) and Harold Perrineau (“Lost”) alongside series star Wilmer Valderrama, will also debut, along with a new episode of “Special Agent Oso” featuring Rita Moreno (“West Side Story”), Rico Rodriguez (“Modern Family”) and Raini Rodriguez (“Prom”).

Premiering Thursday, September 15 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior, the new interstitial series, “This Is Me,” features real-life kids talking about what makes them and their families unique, including favorite foods and traditions that help define their family origins. Disney XD will debut new spots highlighting stars Ryan Ochoa (“Pair of Kings”) and Mateo Arias (“Kickin It”) discussing their family traditions and role models.

Also on Thursday, September 15, Disney Junior will debut a new episode of “Special Agent Oso” (12:30 – 1:00 p.m., ET/PT) featuring guest stars Rita Moreno, Rico Rodriguez and Raini Rodriguez. In the episode titled “For Tamales with Love/Piñata Royale,” Oso teaches Carmen and her cousins how to make their abuela’s (voiced by Moreno) famous tamales and helps Luis (voiced by Rico Rodriguez) and Miguel with a piñata for their sister Mariana’s (voiced by Raini Rodriguez) quinceañera.

The new 45-minute special, “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue,” premiering Monday, October 3 (1:00-1:55 p.m., ET/PT), follows loveable handyman Manny Garcia (voiced by Valderrama) and his talking tools. They travel to Concrete Falls to help Manny’s brother, Rubén (voiced by Freddy Rodriguez), save the family’s auto repair shop before Mayor Johnson (voiced by O’Neill) tears it down. Takei and Perrineau also guest star as residents of Concrete Falls. On Monday, September 19, DisneyJunior.com will launch a new “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue” micro-site featuring the new game, “Handy Manny’s Fix it Fast Garage,” where kids can help Manny and the tools fix up old cars by identifying the problem and picking the correct tool out of Manny’s toolbox. The site also features new recipes and crafts themed to the episode.

New ‘Mickey Mote’ Turns Playhouse Disney DVDs Into Interactive Play Experience

Handy Manny Meets New Tools During City Trip in Special Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month

In the fun-filled event for preschoolers and their families, Manny (played by Wilmer Valderrama) and the tools leave Sheet Rock Hills to work on a big out-of-town construction job where they meet new tool friends, Jack the jackhammer and Spinner the power drill.

In “Handy Manny Big Construction Job,” Manny and the tools – Felipe, Pat, Turner, Stretch, Squeeze, Dusty, Rusty and Flicker – head to Concrete Falls to take on the exciting challenge of working on a big city construction job where they meet exciting new power tool friends, Jack the jackhammer and Spinner the power drill.

In Manny’s absence, Mr. Lopart is busy handling repairs in Sheet Rock Hills, causing the town to slowly fall apart. After friends and neighbors rush to Kelly’s store to inquire when Manny and the tools will return, Kelly sets out to find Manny and the tools and convince them to come home. The special features three new original songs – “Hey Manny,” “Power Tools” and “It’s Good to be Back Home” – performed by Manny and the cast of tools.

The interstitials will also feature kid viewers sharing cultural traditions such as La Arana, Los Pollitos, salsa dancing and Quinceañeras.

On Monday, October 4, a full-length preview of the primetime special will be presented on Disney Channel On Demand. The episode will simulcast on mobile providers Sprint TV, FloTV and MobiTV in concurrence with its television premiere, and beginning Tuesday, October 12, it will be available on mobile VOD for AT&T CV, Sprint TV and Verizon V Cast customers. The special will be available on iTunes and Xbox Live on November 16, in conjunction with the DVD release of “Handy Manny Big Construction Job” from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Building up to the premiere on Disney Channel, PlayhouseDisney.com will launch the interactive “Manny’s Big Crane Game,” as well as activities, do-it-yourself craft ideas and healthy kid-friendly recipes all themed to “Handy Manny Big Construction Job.”

Got leche? Handy Manny to Become Next Spokesperson for Milk

Beginning June 8, Playhouse Disney’s Handy Manny will become the next celebrity to sport a milk mustache as part of the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP)’s ‘Got Milk?’ ad campaign. Print ads will first run in English in magazines such as Disney FamilyFun and People. Later this year, in conjunction with ‘Hispanic Heritage Month,’ Handy Manny will appear in milk ads in Spanish.

Disney Digital Books Celebrates Earth Day with New Additions to Online Library of Over 600 Titles

'No Place on Earth' from Disney Digital BooksIn honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Disney Digital Books (DDB) is offering kids everywhere a 7-day free trial to four Earth Day themed books in addition to its robust online library of over 600 other classic Disney stories all available at the click of a mouse.

The Earth Day themed books, which contain relevant content to help kids learn about the environment, include all new illustrations and an audio component, providing early readers an engaging storytelling experience with entertaining voices and sound effects and the ability for children to follow along as the story is read aloud.

Think Green - Mayor Rosa has asked Handy Manny to help get the town ready for its annual Earth Day celebration held each year on April 22nd. As the team prepares for the big event, Manny and the citizens of Sheet Rock Hills teach the tools about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling!

Handy Manny and the Tools Race to New Primetime Special with Dale Earnhardt Jr., Lance Bass

Handy Manny in 'Handy Manny Big Race'Playhouse Disney’s hit Emmy-nominated series, “Handy Manny,” puts the pedal to the metal with the premiere of the series’ second primetime special, “Handy Manny Big Race,” starring Wilmer Valderrama and guest starring NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. and N’Sync’s Lance Bass, SATURDAY, MARCH 20 (7:00-7:25 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. In this exciting primetime event for preschoolers and parents, Manny and the tools hit the motor speedway as a pit crew for the highly anticipated Wood Valley 500. The announcement was made today by Earnhardt and Valderrama at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In “Handy Manny Big Race,” Manny and the tools help Elliot fix up his used race car to enter the big Wood Valley 500 race. The car turns out better than expected and everyone is ready to race – except Elliot, who’s too nervous to drive. Famous race car driver Chase Davis (voiced by Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) steps in to help, but Elliot’s nerves get the best of him. With the tools as his pit crew, Manny gets behind the wheel in an attempt to win the race for the entire team.

Earnhardt said: “My 4-year-old niece is a huge ‘Handy Manny’ fan, so when Disney Channel approached me about doing this role, I did it with her in mind. It was fun doing it, and being ‘Chase Davis’ for a while. I know Kennedy will enjoy seeing me on her favorite cartoon.”

In the special, Valderrama, Bass (who recurs on the series as surfer-dude Elliot) and the cast of Tools perform the new song “One Step at a Time.” A music video for the song will premiere Saturday, March 6 on Disney Channel and online at Disney.com/HandyManny. In addition, PlayhouseDisney.com will give preschoolers the opportunity to decorate their own race car for the chance to have it featured on air during the premiere broadcast of “Handy Manny Big Race.”

A full-length preview becomes available on Disney Channel On Demand on Saturday, March 13. Select mobile providers will also simulcast the special in conjunction with the television premiere. Beginning Sunday, March 21, the special will be available at Disney.com/HandyManny and on a variety of mobile VOD distributors.

Handy Manny Educates New Tools in New Playhouse Disney Short-Form Series in January

A new group of tools joins Playhouse Disney with the premiere of the animated short-form series, “Handy Manny School for Tools,” MONDAY, JANUARY 25 (8:25 a.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Inspired by the Emmy-nominated hit series “Handy Manny,” starring Wilmer Valderrama, the three-minute shorts feature Manny and his trusty tools alongside a set of 11 new tools: Beamer the laser level, Zip the power socket wrench, Pinzas the needle nose pliers, Sneeze the shop vac, Tick and Totts the socket wrenches, Roland the tool chest, Spinner the power drill and a family of crescent wrenches – dad Lefty, mom Lily and son Junior.

The stories are designed to provide young viewers insight into cooperation and the value of individual talent and contribution as Manny teaches his tools – Pat, Felipe, Dusty, Stretch, Squeeze, Rusty, Turner and Flicker – and their new tool friends how to complete simple jobs using their own unique skills.

The first eight new shorts will premiere throughout the week of January 25, and an additional 11 episodes will debut through the rest of the year.

Handy Manny to Fight Flu in New Disney Channel Interstitial Beginning December 11

Handy Manny, a hugely popular character among the preschool set and star of Disney Channel’s hit series “Handy Manny,” highlights the importance of washing hands and offers other tips to prevent the spread of germs, especially during flu season, in a new interstitial segment premiering FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11 (9:25 a.m. ET/PT) during Playhouse Disney, the learning-focused programming block for preschoolers seen daily on Disney Channel.  The interstitial will recur multiple times daily and will be available at PlayhouseDisney.com, with a link to the Center for Disease Control’s flu prevention micro-site and printable tips for parents on how to prevent and treat the flu.
