As first reported by Stitch Kingdom back in March, Disney today confirmed a series of new shorts based on a new franchise titled Frozen Northern Lights. As also reported by Stitch Kingdom, the franchise will kick off this summer with a book release from Random House titled Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights. The 224 page book positions itself as an adaptation of the new franchise’s storyline, with the publisher’s descriptions as follows:

Several months ago, we received an anonymous tip which went something to the effect of ‘Frozen Northern Lights, have fun with it!’ While it was greatly appreciated, we weren’t sure exactly which direction to run with it. It’s fairly common knowledge that given all the known (and presumably unknown) projects tied to Frozen, that we couldn’t begin to know where to apply such a simple title.
ABC continues to ramp up its promotion of its the upcoming television special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,’ this time releasing two ‘magical moment’ videos which highlight performances from the show. Embedded below are sneak peeks of Tori Kelly performing ‘Rainbow Connection’ with Kermit the Frog and Derek Hough performing ‘Step in Time’ from Mary Poppins. The special will air on the ABC television network this Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 8:00 pm ET/PT.
ABC has released a few video clips from the upcoming television special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,’ which you can find embedded below. The clips include performances of Fall Out Boy, Derek Hough and the show’s opening number, as well as Josh Gad’s tours of Walt Disney’s private apartment above the Main Street firehouse and the Disneyland Dream Suite (which was originally intended to be a permanent Disney residence). Last night at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort, Idina Menzel performed ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen to a sold-out crowd. The performance was taped for ABC’s upcoming television special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60,’ airing February 21 at 8:00 pm. Walt Disney Music and Vevo have released a lyric music video for ‘Making Today A Perfect Day’ by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez from Disney’s newest animated short, Frozen Fever, which you can find embedded below. The song is also available digitally for purchase from iTunes and Amazon. Those who purchased the physical CD of the original motion picture soundtrack to Cinderella can also download the song free of charge with the provided code.
In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

Those who purchased the physical CD of the original motion picture soundtrack to Cinderella can also download the song free of charge with the provided code.
We sincerely apologize for earlier reports from us which explicitly suggested that this would not be the case and that the Cinderella soundtrack would be the only way to obtain the new Frozen Fever tune for the foreseeable future, but this was based on information that we were provided directly from Disney Music.
