Stars of ABC’s “One Life to Live” perform a selection of love songs for a Valentine’s CD entitled “The Sound of a Kiss.” The seven-track CD will be released on iTunes ($5.99) on February 8 with original songs performed by Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer), David Gregory (Robert Ford), Kelley Missal (Danielle Rayburn) and Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde).
“With the release of ‘The Sound of a Kiss,’ we continue to explore opportunities to incorporate music into ‘One Life to Live,’ which has always been very important to us,” said Frank Valentini, executive producer. “The audience has a passionate investment in our characters and this CD affords the opportunity to create a deeper connection between the fans and the show.”
“It’s been great getting everyone back into the recording studio for this project,” said Paul Glass, supervising music director. “There are a couple of tracks that the fans have been asking for and that we have been wanting to get out there: the song Kelley Missal sang at Todd and Tea’s wedding and Kassie DePaiva’s song from New Year’s Eve. We have some great new tracks from Kristen Alderson, David Gregory and Brittany Underwood, as well as the song that Kassie sings on the show this Valentine’s Day. I really feel like this album has something for every fan!”
Featured tracks include:
1) Hard to Give by Kristen Alderson
2) Everything I Ever Learned by Kelley Missal
3) Dream of Our Own by Kassie DePaiva
4) Isn’t It Funny by Brittany Underwood
5) Lost for Words by David Gregory/Brittany Underwood
6) Just to Be by Kassie DePaiva
7) Dream of Our Own (Piano version) by Kassie DePaiva
Previous “OLTL” albums released on iTunes include “Prom Night: The Musical” in 2007 and the original music from “Starr X’d Lovers: The Musical” in 2010. The show successfully sells music for both music guests and original music incorporated, making “OLTL” a popular destination for such music super stars as Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Lifehouse, All-American Rejects, Lionel Richie with Jeremih, Frankie Negron, The Pussycat Dolls, Rachael Yamagata, Timbaland with Keri Hilson and One Republic, Nelly Furtado, Jeannie Ortega, Simply Red, Chris Botti and Erykah Badu. In one afternoon on ABC, a music act will gain broader reach than on any radio station in the country. Labels have realized that ABC Daytime provides an efficient way to reach a highly engaged audience of Women 18-49. For the artists, an appearance on ABC Daytime affords exposure to a new audience, or it can reinforce their music to their existing audience.
Emmy Award-winning “One Life to Live,” created by Agnes Nixon, was launched July 15, 1968. Frank Valentini executive-produces. Ron Carlivati is the headwriter. Paul Glass is the supervising music director. The popular drama consistently ranks among the top five in the key demographic of Women 18-49. “One Life to Live” airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Radio Disney to Premiere Tiffany Thornton and Kermit the Frog Christmas Duet Nov 27; Video Debuts Dec 4
Disney Channel will premiere the music video for Tiffany Thornton (“Sonny With A Chance”) and world renowned star Kermit the Frog’s Christmas duet, “I Believe,” on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4. Prior to the premiere on Disney Channel, Radio Disney will debut the song on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27. Thornton and Kermit the Frog will perform the song during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday, November 26.
The music video for the yuletide ballad was produced by The Muppets Studio, with music written by Wesley Whatley, with lyrics by William Schermerhorn. It follows Kermit the Frog and Tiffany Thornton in the studio as they record their new Christmas song. During the recording process, Tiffany and Kermit add a few festive touches to the studio to get into the holiday spirit. The single from Walt Disney Records will be available digitally at various online retailers on Tuesday, December 8.
A cleverly comedic, music-filled holiday special, “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation,” will premiere across multiple Disney-ABC TV, radio and digital platforms plus iTunes and Xbox Live, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27 through FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18. The special is from creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, the team behind “Phineas and Ferb,” the #1 animated series for kids and tweens.
Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation, said: “This special has all the makings of a holiday classic – a strong theme of gratitude, plus the comedy, great music and smart writing fans have come to expect from ‘Phineas and Ferb.’”
In addition to the series talented cast, the special guest stars include: Clancy Brown (“Shawshank Redemption”), Jane Carr (“Dear John,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Malcolm McDowell (“A Clockwork Orange”), Mathew Horne (“Gavin & Stacey”) and Bruce MacKinnon (“The Catherine Tate Show”).
Povenmire and Marsh said: “We’re thrilled about the multi-platform premiere of ‘Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation’ because it gives us the opportunity to share our own Christmas story with so many and we’d like to think that in the future, the platypus will be associated with Christmas as much as a reindeer!” They continued, “The episode has some of our best musical numbers, lots of holiday themes, and like those Christmas classics we grew up with, Phineas and Ferb have to overcome some pretty big obstacles to save Christmas. That’s really the underlying theme of the special – as well as the series – that if you set your mind to something, especially with the help of your friends and family, you can accomplish anything.”
