Disney Channel fan-favorite Debby Ryan (“The Suite Life on Deck,” “16 Wishes”) stars in “Jessie,” a new comedy series about a small-town girl who leaves behind her Texas roots and finds a job in the Big Apple as nanny to a high-flying couple’s four precocious kids. Production Starts on ‘Jessie’ for Disney Channel, Starring Debby Ryan

Production has begun in Hollywood on “Jessie,” a new comedy series starring 18-year-old Debby Ryan (“The Suite Life on Deck,” “16 Wishes”) as an idealistic teen from rural Texas who moves to New York City and becomes a nanny for a high-profile couple with four kids. The series is scheduled to premiere in fall 2011 on Disney Channel.

Jessie is a small town girl with big dreams who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when she decides to leave behind starry nights for big city lights. Thrilled to be on her own and determined not to be intimidated by New York City, she accepts a job as nanny and moves in with highflying couple Morgan and Pandora and their four children, Emma, Ravi, Luke and Zuri. With a whole new world of opportunities within her reach, Jessie begins to navigate young adulthood and life in the big city. She surprises herself with how much she comes to rely on the support and advice of the kids in her care. Also helping to keep her moral compass in check are Bertram, the family’s butler, and Tony, the building’s 20-year-old doorman.

Starring alongside Ryan are Tony Award-nominated Kevin Chamberlin (Broadway’s “The Addams Family”) as Bertram, the frosty butler; Peyton List (“27 Dresses,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules”) as Emma, a brilliant but cynical 13-year-old and the only biological child in the bunch; Karan Brar (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules”) as Ravi, a 10-year-old adoptee imbued with his Eastern culture, but thrilled with his new life in America; Cameron Boyce (“Grown Ups”) as Luke, a 12-year-old adopted son who is exploding with mischief and is a videogame addict; and Skai Jackson (“Royal Pains”) as Zuri, an adorable 7-year-old girl adopted from Africa who is highly imaginative and fanciful.

“Jessie” was created by Pamela Eells O’Connell (“Family Matters,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” “The Suite Life on Deck”), who serves as executive producer. The series is from It’s a Laugh Productions, Inc.

‘Toy Story 3′ Collectibles from Thinkway Toys, Kubricks Now Available for Pre-Order

Toy Story Collection Jessie from Thinkway ToysDisneyStore.com has made Jessie (Item #200784P), Mr. Potato Head (Item #200350P) and Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear / Lotso (Item #201311P) from the Thinkway Toys Toy Story Collection available for pre-order. According to the site, Mr. Potato Head will be available to own on May 12 while Jessie and Lotso will become available June 1. As is standard with the Toy Story Collection, the toys are all described as film-accurate and come with a certificate of authenticity.

  • Mr. Potato Head stands 8″ tall and is completely interactive with removable  facial features (includes two sets including his angry eyes). Press his hat to hear and see classic Mr. Potato Head expressions or remove his mouth to silence him. Loud noises cause Mr. Potato Head to literally explode, sending his pieces everywhere.
  • Jessie is 14″ tall and speaks 33 phrases including classic sayings when the string in her back is pulled. She’s voice responsive and can even tell when you raise your voice at her (which you probably won’t want to do).
  • Finally, Lotso is 13″ tall and speaks over 45 phrases. The squeezably soft (and strawberry-scented) bear reacts to hugs and tickles.

We had a chance to check out these and other Toy Story Collection offerings earlier this year so we invite you to check out our report and photo gallery in parts one and two of the report. Then head over to the DisneyStore.com Toy Story Boutique and pre-order these amazing collectibles while they’re available.

Lotso Kubrick from MedicomAlso available for pre-order is a very mysterious set of Toy Story 3 Kubricks from Medicom Toy in Japan. The set, which features Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Zurg, Green Army Man, Alien and not-oft-mentioned Lotso (pictured, right) is often quoted around the web at a cost around $250, raising a few eyebrows, but Urban Collector is currently listing the set for about $190 and notes that it’s actually a display tray of 24 pcs as the items are sold in blind packs. The Toy Story 3 Kubricks are expected to ship in June.

First Look: Mattel Introduces Toys for Rapunzel, Toy Story 3, Cars and More

The 107th annual American International Toy Fair is about to kick off in New York City and we couldn’t be more excited. In honor of the 1200+ exhibitors showing off their latest and greatest in toys, we thought we’d take a sneak peek at some of the new Disney toys from Mattel that you can expect to find at your favorite retailer later this year.

We’ll start with this summer’s most anticipated event: Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 3 Buzz Lightyear Deluxe Action Wing Pack from MattelFirst up is the Buzz Lightyear Deluxe Action Wing Pack (Ages 6+; MSRP $49.99; Available May). Junior Space Rangers can sport this backpack style gear which — at a touch of a button — pops out a set of their very own wings, useful for flying or simply falling with style. Other buttons speak some of Buzz’s most popular catchphrases, but the coolest part of all is that the wings can sense when they’re in the horizontal position and will automatically play ‘flying’ noises. When the mission’s been accomplished, the wings contract at the press of a button.

If you’ve been following the TS3 news and have seen the new trailer, you probably already know that Ken (Michael Keaton) joins the Toy Story family and given that Mattel is the home of Ken and Barbie, the Barbie Toy Story 3 Made For Each Other Gift Set (Ages 3+; MSRP $24.99; Available May) is a zero-brainer. The pair of dolls help re-live the magic of the film dressed in the style as they appear on screen.
