Disney Parks to Debut Exclusive ‘Timex for Disney’ Watch Collection in December
Disney Parks has announced that it has partnered with Timex to introduce a line of watches exclusive to the Disney Theme Parks. The collection will debut at the Walt Disney World Resort on Saturday, December 4 from 10 am – 12 pm at the World of Disney store in the Marketplace district of Downtown Disney. The collection will then debut one week later at the Fortuosity Shop from 9 am – 11 am in the Disneyland park (theme park admission required). Guests who purchase one of the new ‘Timex for Disney’ watches during these events will receive a free Timex digital alarm clock as a gift.

Disney Announces High Fashion Accessories for Women Inspired by ‘TRON: Legacy’
Disney Consumer Products is collaborating with high-end designers Rousseau, Hayden-Harnett, Rotenier, and TomTom to launch a luxury accessory and shoe collection for women inspired by the high-tech 3D adventure TRON: Legacy, releasing in U.S. theaters Dec. 17, 2010 in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D. Designed for the young female urbanite, the new TRON: Legacy couture line features dramatic sterling silver and leather statement pieces including an iconic limited edition 5-inch high-heeled platform sandal inspired by the fearless female warrior — Quorra. Ranging in retail prices from $90 – $2,600, the new couture line complements the film’s sleek aesthetic and any chic woman’s wardrobe.
“In developing these TRON-inspired collections, we saw a natural fit for today’s modern woman who blends fashion and technology in her daily routine,” said Pam Lifford, executive vice president of fashion and home for Disney Consumer Products. “The films’ lead female character was also a great inspiration due to her strong and fearless attitude. Additionally, Disney will soon announce details for its official, one and only TRON Pop-Up Shop set to launch in Los Angeles this November. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the exclusive retail destination for men and women will offer fans a one-stop shop for special and limited-edition TRON merchandise, including this new couture line for women.

Rousseau
Jerome C. Rousseau, the distinctive high-end women’s footwear designer, is launching a limited edition 5-inch high heeled platform sandal inspired by TRON: Legacy’s fearless female warrior—Quorra. This chic layered shoe, retailing for $795, will be available in pewter colored leather with metallic coating. The design features a radical shape, silhouette and structure that masterfully blends the futuristic and sleek architectural style of TRON. For Holiday 2010, the shoe will be exclusively sold at the TRON Pop-Up Shop and will expand to selected retailers worldwide in February 2011.
“Before Disney even approached me for this project, I had the original TRON poster next to my desk as part of my inspiration while I was designing my Spring 2011 collection, so I am obviously beyond excited to be asked to create a shoe inspired by TRON: Legacy,” said designer Jerome C. Rousseau. “In keeping with my label’s strengths, I created a style that is distinctive and strong like the architectural nature of TRON, yet anchored in feminine lines and luxurious constructions.”
Hayden-Harnett
Fine accessories designer Hayden-Harnett’s TRON: Legacy collection brings the digital world of TRON to today’s ‘fashionista’ with two exclusive handbags, small leather goods (cosmetic bag and clutch) and two cuff bracelets that tout innovative structures and luxury detailing inspired by the film’s angular lines. Materials used in this product range include gun metal hardware, patent leather and regular leathers in black, with silver lining the interiors. The Hayden-Harnett TRON: Legacy collection consists of six pieces in total ranging in price from $90-$400 and will debut in the designer’s Brooklyn and Nolita stores, the TRON Pop-Up Shop, on haydenharnett.com, and at select retailers in November.
Rotenier
Award-winning, Paris-born jewelry designer Robin Rotenier has created a unique TRON: Legacy-inspired jewelry assortment for men and women. The women’s line features sterling silver earrings, necklaces and two cuff bracelets inspired by the icons seen in the film. Also, two pairs of men’s cufflinks in sterling silver with a black rhodium finish will be available. One pair depicts the TRON lightcycle with the iconic TRON helmet as the closure, the other is inspired by the computer symbols and circular graphics seen in the film.
“The futuristic aesthetics of TRON:Legacy had me on a creative overdrive,” said Rotenier. “These jewelry pieces are bolder and more futuristic than what I traditionally design. They have my touch, but I have never gone that far!”
Rotenier carves his models, and each piece is finished by hand, distinguishing it from machine-made items. The national launch for the entire collection is expected at the end of this month at select high end department and specialty stores and will retail for $345-$2,600.
TomTom
The fine jewelry designer, TomTom, known for combining architecture fabrication techniques with traditional jewelry design, is unveiling a limited-edition women’s collection of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets that focus on TRON’s sleek futurism. The line will retail for $135-$395 and will be available this November only at the TRON Pop-Up retail store.
In addition to the women’s couture line, the complete assortment of TRON:Legacy-inspired fashions now includes a performance apparel line for men by adidas, Burton, Hurley and Oakley; a unisex jewelry collection by Han Cholo; TRON: Legacy “Movie Replica” motorcycle suits for him and her from UD Replicas and a line of caps by New Era. Innovative toys and action figures plus an electronics line round out the film’s merchandise assortment.

The richly artisanal collection consists of sand-washed silk scarves depicting scenes from the following Fantasia sequences: “Rite of Spring,” “Ave Maria” and “Night on Bald Mountain.” Dramatic studded leather cuffs, handbags and wallets feature embossing patterns inspired by the ancient magical leather tomes and soaring gothic architecture found in the film’s “Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria” sequences. Classic Hardware Presents ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Trunk Show at Disneyland’s D Street April 10
On April 10, from 2 pm – 6 pm at Disneyland’s D Street located in the Downtown Disney District, Classic Hardware founder Karyn Cantor will be on hand to present several items from the collection inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
