2010 Destined to be Year of the Villain with New Premium Format Figures from Sideshow Collectibles
Sideshow Collectibles has recently announced two upcoming and amazingly beautiful Premium Format figure releases inspired by classic Disney villains.
First up is Fantasia villain Chernabog who is replicated in excruciating detail to the point where he will undoubtedly induce countless daymares to all those brave enough to do so much as to glance at him. The video below offers some detail on what went into his creation.
Have Fear, the Maleficent Bust from Grand Jester Studios is Almost Here
Earlier this year, it was announced that Enesco’s Grand Jester Studios would be introducing a line of sculpture busts based on Disney heroes and villains. Sideshow Collectibles has announced that the next entry in the series, Maleficent from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, will be available come first quarter of 2010 and is now available for pre-order for $80. At a limited edition of 1500, this gorgeous 10.5″ tall sculpture is bound to go faster than you can say dragon!

Fabulous Fantasmic! Facts About the New Maleficent Dragon at Disneyland; ‘Magical’ Fireworks Extended
A spectacular new dragon joins “Fantasmic!,” stretching as high as 45 feet tall and breathing great plumes of fire on the Rivers of America at Disneyland. Performances of the show have been extended nightly through Sept. 7, and will continue weekends – Friday, Saturday, Sunday – as well as during holiday periods through the end of 2009. Nighttime Disneyland guests can also enjoy the “Magical” fireworks show, which has been extended through Labor Day and weekends thereafter through Sept. 20. Both Tinker Bell and Dumbo the Flying Elephant make special appearances in “Magical.”
