If you haven’t already gotten enough of the teaser trailer for Tangled released by Walt Disney Studios, we have a little bit more for you to not get enough of. Courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Netherlands comes the following video which features some extended footage which most notably consists of Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) first entering the tower as well as getting his first glimpse of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore).
And do not fret, my dear readers, despite the dialogue being in Dutch (I understood ‘Hi’), Pink’s Trouble is still tightly integrated. Enjoy:
Now that said, there’s something interesting to note in the marketing of this film — I mean aside from the re-titling. Notice in the Dutch version that Flynn cries out the infamous line ‘Rapunzel, (Rapunzel), let down your hair!’ while her name, all .8 seconds of it, was cut out of the domestic version. Coincidence?
Just for fun, I also spent a little (read: very little) time splicing the new footage into the teaser trailer that was released yesterday. Be warned, my editing software is almost as bad as my editing skills, so other than the noticeable changes in audio, you might notice some other weird stuff. I am aware Rapunzel’s hair goes up twice — if you’ll notice in the extended footage, Flynn is still walking around at the time it goes up, so the teaser trailer has that clip out of chronological order and I didn’t think it was worth trying to cut out of the original.
Although it wasn’t expected to hit the interwebs until Monday, Yahoo! Movies offered up an exclusive debut of the first teaser trailer for Tangled from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The 2 minute+ trailer gives us the setup of the relationship between notorious thief Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi of NBC’s Chuck) and Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) who has spent her entire life locked up in a tower. We also get quite a bit of an introduction to Pascal, Rapunzel’s chameleon friend-slash-guardian.
Of special note is we also get to see just how ‘magical’ Rapunzel’s hair is as John Lasseter first revealed during the D23 Expo last year.
Update: Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with several hi-res stills from the film as well which are available for your consideration in our new gallery below:
This Sunday night, Disney Channel will be offering an exclusive first look at Disney’s Tangled starring Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider. For this momentous occasion which takes place during Sonny with a Chance at 8 PM ET/PT, they’ve been running the following promo which features our real first look at actual animation from the film.
Most interestingly, this preview takes place one day before the trailer is released online.
In case you miss the event on Disney Channel, we plan on bringing the segment to you.
Special thanks to our friends at the Animatie.blog for the tip.
While it lasts, here’s the teaser for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Tangled (a.k.a. Rapunzel) expected to be included on the blu-ray/dvd for The Princess and the Frog. The film, which opens in limited release on November 12, stars Many Moore and Zachary Levi.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – After combing the acting landscape, Walt Disney Pictures has chosen Mandy Moore to voice the lead role in its Digital 3D-animated musical action-adventure “Rapunzel,” inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.
Zachary Levi, star of NBC’s “Chuck,” has been cast as the voice of the dashing bandit who finds himself on the road with the rebellious teen “hair apparent.”
