‘Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United’ on Disney Blu-ray, December 3
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced that the direct-to-video production of Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United will be released on Blu-ray on December 3, 2013.
In the film (which clocks in at 72 minutes in length), the Invincible Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk join forces to save the Earth from its greatest threat yet. When two Hydra scientists try to supercharge a Stark Arc Reactor with Hulk’s Gamma Energy, they unleash a being of pure electricity called Zzzax — and he’s hungry for destruction. Together, Iron Man and Hulk are the only force that stands in the way of the Zzzax’s planetary blackout. But first the super heroic duo will have to get through snarling Wendigos, deadly robots and the scaly powerhouse, Abomination. Can two of Marvel’s mightiest heroes find a way to work together without smashing each other before time runs out?
Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United represents Marvel’s first full-length direct-to-video CG animation feature and provides a brand new look at the Marvel Universe of super heroes. The film, which was written by Henry Gilroy & Brandon Auman, features the vocal talents of Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man and Fred Tatasciore as Hulk.
Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

TOY FAIR: Disney and Marvel Branded CuddleUppets
If you’ve seen at least three advertisements on children’s television lately, you’ve no doubt seen the one for CuddleUppets by Jay@Play. For the uninitiated, CuddleUppets are precisely what the earworm of the jingle says — blankets with puppets. Children can wrap themselves up with the cuddly blanket portion of the CuddleUppets while manipulating the puppet portion with one hand. For your convenience, we’ve embedded the commercial below — you’re welcome!
Beginning this spring, Jay@Play will be releasing an entirely new line of CuddleUppets featuring popular characters from across the Disney brand. Pictured above are Lambie and Hallie from the popular Disney Junior show ‘Doc McStuffins,’ along with Agent P from Disney XD’s ‘Phineas and Ferb.’ Additional characters waiting to hit the shelves include Sulley from Disney/Pixar’s Monsters Inc. and Monsters University, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. Also included in the bunch are Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk from Disney XD’s ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ and ‘Avengers Assemble,’ respectfully. While both the Marvel CuddleUppets allow children to manipulate the head, the mouths do not open as they do on other entries in the line.
The Disney CuddleUppets should be hitting the shelves in May and June at most major retailers such as Walmart, Target and Amazon. In addition to CuddleUppets, Jay@Play informs us that they will be producing Disney branded Shamzee pillow cases and that it’s likely the Disney characters will be incorporated into their entire line over time.
Note that packaging featured here is for positioning only (FPO), is not final and thus is subject to change.

WATCH: ‘Iron Man 3′ Super Bowl XLVII Extended Look
During the 2013 Super Bowl big game, Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios shared an extended sneak peek at their upcoming film, Iron Man 3.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of Tales of Suspense (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with The Invincible Iron Man (#1) in May of 1968.
Sneak peeks at Oz the Great and Powerful and The Lone Ranger also aired during the big game.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Dominates 40th Annual Annie Awards
Earlier this evening, The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, held its 40th Annual Annie Awards at UCLA’s Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, CA. While addressing the myriad of technical issues for the awards show were well beyond the capabilities of Fix-It Felix Jr and his magic hammer, the clear winner of the night was Wreck-It Ralph from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The blockbuster took a total of five awards including Music in an Animated Feature Production (Henry Jackman, Skrillex, Adam Young, Matthew Thiessen, Jamie Houston, Yasushi Akimoto), Writing in an Animated Feature (Phil Johnston and Jennifer Lee), Voice Acting in an Animated Feature (Alan Tudyk as King Candy), Directing in an Animated Feature (Rich Moore) and Best Animated Feature.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ short Paperman, directed by John Kahrs, also took its category of Best Animated Short Subject. Disney/Pixar’s Brave also picked up a couple of awards for Editorial in an Animated Feature (Nicholas C. Smith, A.C.E., Robert Grahamjones, A.C.E., David Suther) and Production Design in an Animated Feature (Steve Pilcher). Kristen Schaal also took the honors for Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production for her role as Mabel Pines in ‘Gravity Falls.’
Lastly, Jerome Platteaux, John Sigurdson, Ryan Hopkins, Raul Essig and Mark Chataway of Industrial Light & Magic were recognized for Animated Effects in a Live Action Film for Marvel’s The Avengers.
Juried awards honoring career achievement and exceptional contributions to animation were also awarded to Disney animator Mark Henn, one of three recognized with the Winsor McCay award, as selected by the ASIFA-Hollywood Board of Directors, for his career contributions to the art of animation. Additionally, Disney publicist and documentarian Howard Green received the June Foray Award for his significant and benevolent or charitable impact on the art and industry of animation.

Stan Lee Subpoenaed in Lawsuit Against Disney Over Marvel Properties
A subpoena was issued earlier this week by the United States District Court in California against Stan Lee in the lawsuit by Stan Lee Media, Inc. (SLMI) against The Walt Disney Company (USDC Colorado, case 12-cv-02663). The multi-billion dollar lawsuit claims that it is SLMI, not Disney/Marvel, that owns the rights to characters that Lee owned, but then transferred to Marvel in the late ’90s. It was prior to this that Lee founded SLMI (which would later fail), the shareholders of which are claiming Lee signed the rights over to them and therefore never had the rights to transfer to Marvel, which would then go own to be owned by Disney, including iconic properties such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, X-Men, Thor and the Incredible Hulk, amongst others.
According to the subpoena, Lee is ordered to offer a deposition in the case on February 19. In addition, Lee is being asked to produce documents including all communication between himself and Disney, Marvel or Stan Lee Media pertaining to the issue as well as communication between SLMI and Disney or Marvel along with financial and corporate information for SLMI, all dating back to 1998.
