'Big Hero 6' Character Key ArtEarlier today — or yesterday, technically — Walt Disney Animation Studios presented at the annual Annecy Film Festival in France. As part of the presentation, WDAS premiered the short Feast which will play ahead of Big Hero 6 in theaters on November 7, 2014. In addition, Big Hero 6 and Disney/Pixar’s upcoming film Inside Out were also previewed in front of audiences.

E3: ‘Disney Infinity 2.0′ Spider-Man Play Set Details, Figures, Power Discs, Screens and More

'Disney Infinity 2.0' Nova, Spider-Man, Venom, Nick Fury and Iron Fist figuresEarlier today, at E3, Disney Interactive announced the Spider-Man play set for its upcoming ‘Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition).’

The Spider-Man Play Set will feature a storyline which follows the Green Goblin as he tries to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. once and for all. After capturing Venom to extract and clone symbiotes from him, he hires Mysterio to be his second in command and wreak havoc on the Marvel universe. Players will fight the spreading symbiotes and face Mysterio and Green Goblin in in the sewers, labs and skies above Manhattan.

E3: ‘Disney Infinity 2.0′ Venom, Power Discs, Peripherals, Exclusives and More

'Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition' VenomAlthough announcements have yet to come out directly out of the Disney Interactive camp, several news items regarding ‘Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition’ have come forward at the E3 Expo event in Los Angeles.

Sony announced that it will exclusively offer the Hulk playable figure ahead of its general release with the collector’s edition of ‘Disney Infinity 2.0′ for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. The collector’s edition will also include a display base for the figures. Additionally, the game will be available on both PSTV and PlayStation Vita as well as part of a special PlayStation 3 bundle.

‘Disney Infinity 2.0′ Merida and Maleficent Screens, Figures and Details

'Disney Infinity 2.0' Maleficent and Merida

In conjunction with today’s theatrical release of Maleficent, Disney Interactive unveiled new details for Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition playable characters Maleficent and Merida. In addition to a game play trailer, final concept art for the figure as well as screen shots of the duo in action inside the Toy Box were also released and can be seen below.

Merida: With her untamed fiery red locks, this headstrong Princess will definitely leave her mark in Disney Infinity. Between her sharp sword and bow combo attacks with ricocheting arrows, she can upgrade her aim with elemental freeze arrows, freezing enemies in front of her then following up with rapid shots showing off her impressive athletic skills as an archer and sword fighter.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' on Blu-rayWalt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced that the newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will be available to own on 3D Blu-ray, 2D Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on September 18. In addition, it will be available on Disney Movies Anywhere, 3D Digital and HD Digital beginning August 19.

‘Big Hero 6′ Character Rename Confirmed by Studio; Updated Official Synopsis

'Big Hero 6' Teaser PosterBefore releasing the first official teaser trailer for its upcoming animated film, Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014), earlier today, Walt Disney Animation Studios quietly updated its official synopsis for the film, which did not go unnoticed by us.

While the majority of the changes were minor — mostly more of the flowery aspects and a bit of rearranging — we did happen to notice that one of the characters got a bit of a name change. Initially named Wasabi No-Ginger as he had been in the Marvel comics on which the film is based, his last name was officially dropped for the film, so he will now be known as simply Wasabi.
