At BookCon earlier this year, New York Times best-selling author and author of Disney Descendants prequel, Isle of the Lost, Melissa de la Cruz, announced that there would be a sequel to the book, expected in May of 2016.
A new publisher’s description for Isle of the Lost, the prequel novel for the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘The Descendants,’ penned by Melissa de la Cruz, has been released. In addition, Amazon has provided what appears to be official character descriptions for the offspring of the famous Disney villains. The book’s description is as follows:
Evil Tree. Bad Apple?
Twenty years ago, all the evil villains were banished from the kingdom of Auradon and made to live in virtual imprisonment on the Isle of the Lost. The island is surrounded by a magical force field that keeps the villains and their descendants safely locked up and away from the mainland. Life on the island is dark and dreary. It is a dirty, decrepit place that’s been left to rot and forgotten by the world.
Disney Publishing Worldwide today announced it will be publishing a prequel to the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, titled Isle of the Lost. It will be written by bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz, whose previous titles include The Witches of East End and Blue Bloods. It will be available in hardcover on May 5, 2015.
Legend has it that long ago, the most infamous villains were imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, cut off from the rest of the world as a punishment for their misdeeds. In this dark and dreary place, the likes of Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil and the Evil Queen reside and evil reigns supreme. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are their descendants, the teenaged sons and daughters of the Isle’s most villainous characters, and they are coming of age on the Isle of the Lost.
