First Look: Buzz Lightyear Disney Label Transformer from Takara-Tomy

Big Bad Toy Store has now featured an image of the upcoming Disney Label release of the Buzz Lightyear transformer figure from Takara-Tomy.

Expected to ship in June, the figure is available for pre-order from the site for $45.

Presented in a deluxe black wooden display box with hinged lid and velour lining, measuring 5 1/4″ x 11″ x 2″, the eight 2″ tall/wide enamel cloisonné pins feature Mickey in a variety of roles and costumes he’s donned throughout the year including: Plane Crazy, Thru the Mirror, Mickey’s Fire Brigade, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, The Simple Things, as a train conductor, with a film slate and in sportswear.

Exclusive First Look: New Souvenir 3D Mickey Ears

You may have read this blog entry written by Disneyland Merchandise Marketing & Communications Project Manager Michelle Harker on the official Disney Parks blog earlier today. In the article, Michelle talks about some upcoming theme park merchandise including brand new Mickey ears, specifically of the Mickey Bar and Popcorn variety.

We are pleased to bring you a first look at some of the new ears you can expect to find in the Disney Parks later this year in addition to the Mickey Bar Ice Cream and Popcorn editions: a skull pirate and, our personal favorite, the Haunted Mansion edition.

Designer Sue Wong Announces ‘Alice in Wonderland’-Inspired Fashion Collection in February

TRON: Betrayal Leading fashion designer Sue Wong announced today the launch of Sue Wong for Walt Disney Signature, a high-end dress line inspired by Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland.” Tim Burton’s highly anticipated film, featuring favorite characters from the classic Lewis Carroll tales, hits the big screen on March 5, 2010 (U.S. theatres). The line developed in collaboration with Disney Consumer Products will launch nationally in February 2010 as a special limited edition collection for Spring 2010.

Stella McCartney Offers Limited Edition Jewelry Inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’

Stella McCartney designs a limited edition costume jewelry necklace and bracelet inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton’s highly anticipated film, featuring favorite characters from the classic Lewis Carroll tales, hits the big screen on March 5, 2010 (U.S. theatres). Stella McCartney uses the iconic images from the epic 3D fantasy tale and translates them into a cheeky and playful design. Hand made in Italy, the Alice necklace and bracelet are designed with a brass and aluminium light gold anthracite chain, the same chain used in Stella McCartney’s best selling Falabella bag. The chain is adorned with plexi Alice charms such as a rabbit, a Mad Hatter’s hat; a suit of: spade, club, hearts and diamond, all in Stella McCartney’s usual color palette of muted pinks, nudes, taupe and brown. Additionally, pearl baubles and Swarovski crystals accents provide a feminine touch.

Wild Planet to Release Woody’s Run-Around Roundup RFID Educational Game in May

Woody’s Run-Around Roundup, featuring the gang from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story, follows Wild Planet’s successful listen-think-move format and promotes physical and mental exercise.  It can be played indoors or out, solo or in teams, and does not require the use of a computer or television.

Woody (atop his horse Bullseye) is the electronic hand-held tagger in the game and his Toy Story co-stars Buzz Lightyear, Jesse, Hamm and Rex are targets.  Players listen for Woody to call out clues about different characters, then run to and tag the corresponding targets.

Hallmark Introduces ‘Augmented Reality’ Greeting Cards for Valentine’s Day

Hallmark introduced a new line of greeting cards today using what’s come to be known as augmented reality. The greetings cards, while fully functional as traditional cards, offer a unique and innovative experience by allowing the recipient to use the card as a platform for a 3D animated sequence come to life right before their eyes.

Disney fans may recognize this as the same technology that Disneyland pushed heavily last summer with the Fantasmic! Dragon and the Become a Villain game.

Vinylmation Artist Signing Event at Walt Disney World, January 29

On January 29, there will be a special signing opportunity to meet with Vinylmation artists who have made recent contributions to the collections. Scheduled to appear are Dan Howard (Urban #3), Maria Clapsis (Urban #3, Wall*E/Eve set)  and Randy Noble (Cinderella 60th Anniversary). The event takes place from 5 pm – 7 pm at the Art of Disney at the Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Hallmark UK Offers Limited Edition of Disney Video Greeting Cards for Valentine’s Day

Hallmark UK is poised to take the greeting card business to the next level this February when it unveils the UK’s first ever video greeting card. With a limited edition of only 1500, the Valentine’s Day card features a video of five classic Disney romantic moments from films including Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin which plays when the card is opened.

Available at Clintons Cards locations throughout the UK, the video greeting card will retail for a little over $30 US.

Tonner Previews 2010 Line of Dolls Featuring Miss Piggy

Tonner has put up a preview of its 2010 line of dolls, two of which are of Miss Piggy.

Piggy goes uptown with Fifth Avenue Pig, a limited edition of 300. Her chic ensemble includes an ultra soft suit set featuring a silky  peplum and back bow, glistening gold buttons, and luscious faux fur collar and cuffs.  Matching faux fur hat, signature pearl necklace, and faux leather pumps also included. The 16″ tall vinyl collectible retails for $169.99.

Also coming is the 2010 Miss Piggy Basic, an open edition for $99.99 each, which can also be viewed on the preview site.
