On its official blog, Disney Vinylmation has introduced three new Vinylmation special edition figures that will be released at the Walt Disney World resort on January 8 in honor of upcoming 2010 marathon events, each designed by Disney Design Group artist Maria Clapsis.
The closing of 2009 saw the end of an era for New York City in that the World of Disney, located in the world-famous Fifth Avenue shopping area, shuttered its doors forever. A taste of the Disney Parks, the World of Disney store was a sister store to its Downtown Disney counterparts, offering NYC residents and tourists the opportunity to purchase theme park merchandise, Disney on Broadway merchandise and — of course — NYC branded merchandise, some of which eventually became available at Youse Guys Moichendise in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Sideshow Collectibles has recently announced two upcoming and amazingly beautiful Premium Format figure releases inspired by classic Disney villains.
First up is Fantasia villain Chernabog who is replicated in excruciating detail to the point where he will undoubtedly induce countless daymares to all those brave enough to do so much as to glance at him. The video below offers some detail on what went into his creation.
D23 members now have the ability to purchase a limited edition giclee from The Princess and the Frog from DisneyStore.com for $164.95. Printed on elegant velvet fine art paper, the 11″ x 17″ print is limited to an edition of 200 but only the first 100 sold will be signed by film directors John Musker and Ron Clements.
Also now available to D23 members is a giclee of pre-production art from TRON Legacy titled ‘Attack on the MCP.’ The 13″ x 19″ print on watercolor paper, which has a limited edition of 82, was a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive.
About 213,000 units total have been recalled today due to a potential suffocation hazard. The one piece metal bars supporting the floorboard of the bassinet attachment can come out of the fabric sleeves and create an uneven sleeping surface, posing a risk of suffocation or positional asphyxiation.
The affected models (05025, 05026, 05037, 05088 and 05350) were sold at Babies “R” Us, Kmart, Sears, Target and Walmart between January 2007 and October 2009. To determine the model number, locate the sticker on one of the support legs underneath the play yard
The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG Worldwide, and Disney Consumer Products (DCP) are teaming up to bring Rose Bowl and BCS fans a unique line of souvenir T-shirts.
The collection will feature the logos of the participating teams – Oregon and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and Alabama and Texas Universities in the BCS National Championship Game – featuring some of Disney’s most beloved characters including Mickey Mouse. Available beginning December 30, the T-shirts will be sold at www.DisneyStore.com, Disney Store locations in the markets of the participating universities, and at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
With the latest round of Urban and the debut of Cutesters still managing to find their way into the stream of collectibility, Vinylmation today updated its official site, setting expectations for Park Series #4, Sports Series #1 and the ‘Oh Mickey!’ Series to debut in spring 2010 along with Muppet Series #1.
For at least the second time in PhotoPass history, PhotoMovie is no longer available for purchase. The last time it was not made available was when PhotoCD and PhotoMovie were the only products and the online presence was going through a major overhaul. With the product removed completely from the products list and the help section listing the product as being discontinued, it doesn’t appear as though the PhotoMovie is destined to return any time soon.

The official Vinylmation blog made the announcement today that the release of the Cutesters series, originally slated for today at the Disneyland Resort and then postponed until Thursday has been delayed yet again to an unknown date, although some point in December is still expected.
Being released on Thursday, December 17 however will be the 3″ and 9″ colored DIY Vinylmation blanks that we first introduced you to at the D23 Expo back in September. For artists who prefer a base color other than white, they now have pink, purple, red, black and yellow to choose from in addition to the original white.
