‘Brave’ Clip ‘Archery’ Features Previously Unreleased Animation, Dialogue

At first glance,  it will look just like the second half of the ‘trailer,’ known as ‘The Prize,’ in which Merida announces her intention to choose her own fate when it comes to being betrothed, however, just in case you want to make sure you’re piecing the entire film together, or just happen to crave more of Kelly Macdonald as Merida, there actually are a few new seconds of footage in this clip that comes to us from Walt Disney Studios Ireland, including Merida positioning herself between the targets.

Although she will officially begin meeting guests in a play and greet environment at the Magic Kingdom starting later this month, she is apparently making random appearances as she gets acclimated to the harsh Orlando weather.

A batch of photos have appeared on Flickr from abelle2, although it appears more photos can be seen currently on this tumblr post (via @DisneyProjects).

BRAVE: Merida Changes Her Fate in 2 1/2 Minute Extended Clip

Merida in 'Brave'Walt Disney Studios UK has released this extended clip from the upcoming Disney/Pixar film Brave. In the clip, which was actually shown to attendees at the Disney D23 Expo (who were sworn to secrecy by director Mark Andrews), Princess Merida takes it upon herself to enter an archery contest in which a ‘proper’ suitor is meant to be chosen for her. Perhaps inspired by the Greek Princess-slash-Godess Atalanta, Merida is convinced that if she can best her suitors, then she shall be allowed to choose her own fate, much to the chagrin of Queen Elinor.

First Look: Brave Dolls and Toys from New York Toy Fair

If there’s one thing to take away from Disney/Pixar’s Brave’s showing at this year’s International Toy Fair in New York, it’s that Brave is not a franchise. While there may be more merchandise coming down the pipeline as not all merchandise (or manufacturers for that matter) is represented at the trade show, the amount that has been shown for Brave pales in comparison to recent franchises such as Toy Story 3 and Cars 2. As a poor example, even Monogram International, which was showing a slight handful number of items for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie (no photos, sorry, is offering one sole item for Brave— a journal.
