“LOST LIVE: The Final Celebration” will feature appearances by “Lost” cast members — including Nestor Carbonell, Michael Emerson and Jorge Garcia — and be performed by Oscar winning composer Michael Giacchino, who will conduct a live orchestral performance featuring the iconic music of “Lost” at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 13, to celebrate the upcoming series finale.  In addition, a special preview of the penultimate episode will be screened immediately after the concert.

One of the most critically-acclaimed and groundbreaking shows of the past decade, the “Lost” Series Finale Event airs Sunday, May 23 on the ABC Television Network from 9:00-11:00 p.m., ET. Preceding the finale on this evening will be a recap special from 7:00-9:00 p.m., ET and, from 11:35 p.m-12:35a.m., ET, “Lost” fan Jimmy Kimmel bids farewell to the iconic show in his own indelible manner on the special, “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost.”

Tickets for the event, which will go on sale beginning Friday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m., Pacific Time, are available at uclalive.org and ticketmaster.com. Ticket proceeds from the concert will go to the Colburn School of Performing Arts.

Disney/ABC Television Group Receives Three Golden Globe Award Nominations

The ABC Television Network’s “Modern Family,” the critically acclaimed comedy series that takes an honest and often hilarious look at the complexities of modern day families, received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical. The series has also been recently honored with an AFI Award as one of the Top 10 television programs of 2009, in addition to three Writers Guild Awards nominations, including Best Comedy Series and Best New Series nominations.

The other two nominations for ABC were in the individual categories: “Cougar Town” star and executive producer Courteney Cox received her first ever Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical; and “Lost’s” Michael Emerson was also a first-time Golden Globe nominee for his portrayal of Ben Linus, leader of the Others. Emerson won his first Emmy Award for the role in September. “Cougar Town” and “Lost” are produced by ABC Studios.

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be presented Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Los Angeles.

Disney/ABC Television Group Scores 60 Primetime Emmy Nominations

The Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) captured 60 Primetime Emmy nominations, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This total reflects nominations for ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC.com and Disney Channel programming.

The ABC Television Network received 56 nominations, including a Drama Series and Writing in a Drama Series nomination for previous Emmy winner “Lost,” produced by ABC Studios, and key nominations in the acting categories: Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Sally Field for “Brothers and Sisters”; Christina Applegate captured a Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her starring role in “Samantha Who?”; Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson both were recognized in the Supporting Actress Drama category for their roles on “Grey’s Anatomy”; “Lost’s” Michael Emerson, a past Emmy winner for a guest appearance on “The Practice,” captured his third straight Supporting Actor nomination as the mysterious Benjamin Linus; William Shatner was recognized with a Supporting Actor nomination for the last season of “Boston Legal,” along with his co-star Christian Clemenson; Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nominations went to previous Emmy nominees Kristin Chenoweth for “Pushing Daisies” and Vanessa Williams for “Ugly Betty.”
