Verizon’s ‘Mobile Magic’ for Disney Parks Available November 2009; Parks to Introduce Mobile Sites for All

My oh my, it’s going to be a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day for many Verizon subscribers come November when the long awaited ‘Mobile Magic’ application from Verizon makes its debut.

The application, which will make use of GPS technology, will provide information to guests at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts such as park maps, character meet & greet information and attraction wait times.  Mr. Bluebird tells us there will be a subscription fee of $9.95 for six months and that when it becomes available,  Verizon customers will be able to purchase it by texting MAGIC to 2777 from their Verizon phones.

To make it even sweeter, the parks will also finally introduce mobile-friendly sites for anyone with a phone with an internet browser. The (let’s hope) iPhone and others-friendly websites will offer more generic information such as park hours, entertainment schedules and dining information. Those sites will be available at http://m.disneyworld.com and http://m.disneyland.com, so those with stubby fingers, start working on your bookmarks now!

Now that’s actual AND factual.

UPDATE: Via its blog, Disney Parks has released additional details. While in a park, details such as FASTPASS availability and current FASTPASS return windows will be available for that park only. In other parks as well as on the mobile sites, limited information will be available. This information as well as standby times come directly from Disney’s internal system.
