The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced its list of nominees for the 68th Annual Golden Globes this morning and Walt Disney Studios, Disney/Pixar and Disney-ABC Television Group (DATG) offered up a solid selection of nominations in films and television.
ABC has just released this video promoting the upcoming second season of its Emmy Award-winning comedy, Modern Family. A clip from the season premiere is preceded by a small interview with cast members Eric Stonestreet (who also won an Emmy for his role on the show as Cam), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell), Julie Bowen (Claire) and Ty Burrell (Phil) as well as some red carpet interviews delivered by Rico Rodriguez (Manny).

ABC Network’s critically acclaimed freshman hit comedy series, “Modern Family,” swept more categories than any other series with three wins, including the top comedy series prize, at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, presented last night. In addition to winning for Outstanding Comedy Series, “Modern Family’s” Eric Stonestreet captured his first-ever Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and executive producers Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd took the Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series prize for the pilot episode.
“Modern Family” won a total of six Emmys, with the other three awards for Casting, Sound Mixing and Picture Editing announced at the Creative Arts Emmys on Aug. 21.
GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, will honor the hit ABC show “Modern Family” at the Respect Awards – Los Angeles, Presented by Centropolis Entertainment, on October 8 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Also being honored are Out & Equal Workplace Advocates and the GLSEN Educator of the Year, presented by Sodexo.
“Modern Family,” which recently received 14 Emmy nominations, portrays positive images and storylines that reflect a diverse America, including the depiction of a family headed by a gay couple. The season premiere is Thursday, September 22 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET), on the ABC Television Network.
The Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) captured 69 Primetime Emmy nominations, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This total reflects nominations for ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC.com and Disney Channel programming.
The ABC Television Network received 63 nominations, including a first-time, first season Comedy Series nomination for “Modern Family,” which gathered a total of 14 nominations, including recognitions for Art Direction, Casting, Directing, Picture Editing, Guest Actor, Sound Mixing and Writing.
“Modern Family’s” Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara all garnered nominations in the Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series category.
The ABC Television Network’s “Modern Family,” the critically acclaimed comedy series that takes an honest and often hilarious look at the complexities of modern day families, received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical. The series has also been recently honored with an AFI Award as one of the Top 10 television programs of 2009, in addition to three Writers Guild Awards nominations, including Best Comedy Series and Best New Series nominations.
