Ahead of any official announcement (or known release date), we have learned of the bonus features that will accompany Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World when it arrives on Blu-ray/DVD (pre-order) courtesy of the British Board of Film Classification. The details can be found below.
As a quick follow-up to its listing for Frozen on Blu-ray (along with an apparent exclusive on the 3D version), Walmart is now listing Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks with a release date of March 18, 2014 as well. Perhaps most interesting, however, is that not only does this come ahead of any official announcement, but it appears the listing is currently only available through the direct link which was supplied to us by Walmart via its electronic catalog — it does not yet appear to show up in any search results, which may cast further doubt on whether the release date has any legitimacy at this point.

As part of its ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for the 2013 awards season, Walt Disney Studios today released the final draft of Kelly Marcel’s script for Saving Mr. Banks, a film which has already been garnering a string of accolades, particularly for Emma Thompson in the starring role of P.L. Travers.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released this brief clip from the Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Blu-ray bonus feature, ‘Becoming Mr. Sherman.’ The segment features Richard Sherman and Jason Schwartzman — who portrays Sherman in the upcoming film, Saving Mr. Banks — discussing his role in the film. The clip also features quite a bit of behind-the-scenes footage from the film. Mary Poppins makes its blu-ray debut tomorrow, while Saving Mr. Banks opens in limited release this Friday, followed by a wide release on December 20, 2013.
Walt Disney Studios has released this new featurette for Saving Mr. Banks, focusing on the iconic music of Mary Poppins. It featuring Robert Sherman (half of the famous Sherman Brothers songwriting team responsible for the soundtrack as well as the film’s common threads) as well as the cast of Saving Mr. Banks as they discuss (and in some cases, reminisce) about the music and Walt Disney’s influence. Some additional footage as well as behind-the-scenes footage is also shared along the way.
In honor of Saving Mr. Banks which shares the previously untold story of what it took for Walt Disney to bring Mary Poppins to the movies, Walt Disney Studios has released several behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, sketches by screenwriter Don DaGradi (as seen below) and more. Pictured left is a rarely seen photo of Richard and Robert Sherman singing along with Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke and Irwin Kostal, while pictured below is a sketch by DaGradi featuring P.L. Travers during ‘the trial — I mean conference.’
Walt Disney Studios today announced that for one week only, guests will have the opportunity to see Disney’s upcoming Saving Mr. Banks, starring Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks, in a state-of-the-art movie theater on the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California, and then walk in Walt Disney’s footsteps on a special tour of the famous lot. This limited engagement features one show daily at 7 pm from December 13th through December 19th.
Walt Disney Studios has provided us with seventeen newly released hi-res stills from its upcoming feature, Saving Mr. Banks, which have been added to the beginning of our gallery of images from the film below. In addition to close-ups of several of the main characters such as Walt Disney (Tom Hanks), P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson), Don DaGradi (Bradley Whitford), Richard and Robert Sherman (Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak) and Ralph (Paul Giamatti) — the only fictional character in the film — we also get some good looks at Travers’ life as a child as portrayed by Annie Buckley with parents Margaret and Travers Goff (Ruth Wilson and Colin Farrell) and Aunt Ellie (Rachel Griffiths). In addition, we also have a couple of looks at costume designs for Walt Disney and P.L. Travers by Daniel Orlandi.
