Disney/Pixar has released the first clip from its upcoming short, Lava, which will play ahead of Pixar’s Inside Out (June 19, 2015). You can find the clip, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Italy, embedded below.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with high resolution versions of two recently released stills from Patrick Osborne’s short, Feast, which will play before Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014).
Feast, a new short from first-time director Patrick Osborne (head of animation for Paperman) and Walt Disney Animation Studios, is the story of one man’s love life as seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share.
Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios have provided us with a high resolution version of a recently released still featuring Hiro and Baymax from their upcoming film, Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014). The photo, seen left, has also been added to the beginning of our gallery of stills from the film, which you can find embedded below.
Ahead of any official announcement, Amazon has begun listing Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises on Blu-ray and DVD with a release date of November 18, 2014. Earlier today we announced that Kiki’s Delivery Service will also be released on November 18 with a 2-disc Blu-ray featuring never-before-seen bonus features as well as Princess Mononoke on Blu-ray for the first time in the US.
In The Wind Rises, Jiro dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni. Nearsighted and unable to be a pilot, he becomes one of the world’s most accomplished airplane designers, experiencing key historical events in an epic tale of love, perseverance and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world.
Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have recently released the mid-credit scene from Guardians of the Galaxy which features a young Groot offshoot secretly dancing to the Jackson Five’s ‘I Want You Back,’ as seen in the clip embedded below.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy continues to dominate the box office while promotion is already beginning for its sequel and in-between all that, the stills won’t stop coming. Walt Disney Studios have provided us with 17 newly released stills in high resolution and — as with the last batch — there will be spoilers contained among the rest of the photos from the gorgeous film. If you still haven’t seen the film, you probably won’t want to go any further than this.
ABC has announced it will air an hour-long special titled ‘The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic’ which will premiere on the ABC television network on September 2, 2014 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The special promises to share the behind-the-scenes secrets in producing Frozen, the biggest animated film of all time. Viewers will get a rare look inside Walt Disney Animation Studios and unprecedented access to the creative team that brought Frozen to life. Throughout the one-hour special, the audience will hear from Frozen stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, the directors, songwriters, producer and artists and chief creative officer John Lasseter — the team who dreamed of making a cherished Hans Christian Andersen story into a big screen animated musical. Viewers will take a journey to the beautiful Norwegian villages and landscapes that inspired the look of Arendelle — the fictional kingdom — and see images and footage from the research trips to Norway, Quebec and points beyond that helped create the film’s unforgettable look and feel.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, comes Big Hero 6, an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot,and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has confirmed our earlier report that the ‘Sing-Along’ edition of the smash animated hit Frozen will be released on DVD and digital on November 18, 2014. As we previously announced, Disney Store has begun taking pre-orders. Amazon has also begun listing the title.
The DVD will contain both the standard theatrical cut as well as the special edition sing-along cut that played in theaters earlier this year. Also included will be the Mickey Mouse Get A Horse! short as well as the ‘Breaking the Ice – The Real Making of Frozen’ six minute featurette that was initially promised on the original Blu-ray release but was never delivered.
It may be debatable to call it a spoiler when the film has already been out for a week, but just in case you’re one of the few that hasn’t already seen Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters, you will probably not want to look at many of the dozens of new hi-res stills provided to us by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios — you have been warned.
