Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with a list of main characters and their descriptions from their upcoming film, Thor: The Dark World in theaters on November 8, 2013. In case you may have missed it, you may also want to review the list of fun facts about the film we previously shared.
Immediate reactions were mixed at best when we first reported from the D23 Expo earlier this year that Disney will be taking its ‘Second Screen Live’ experience to theaters with The Little Mermaid beginning September 20, 2013.
Now Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released a trailer promoting the event, which is the first time it has gone nationally after some prior localized trials with Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. The ‘Second Screen Live’ experience encourages movie-goers to download a special app for their Apple iPad and bring it to the theater to engage in various activities such as sing-alongs, trivia, games and more.
When The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition debuts on Blu-ray on October 1, 2013, it will include a few new bonus features. In addition to Carly Rae Jepsen’s music video for ‘Part of Your World,’ the Blu-ray will also include ‘Howard’s Lecture,’ ‘Part of Her World: Jodi Benson’s Voyage To New Fantasyland,’ ‘The Real Little Mermaid: Live Action Reference Model,’ Disney Intermission support and a look at deleted character, Harold the Merman.
Thanks to Walt Disney Studios Italy, we get early access to the Harold the Merman deleted character bonus feature, which can be seen here embedded below:
It’s so true what they say: when it rains, it Thors. Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with a ple-Thor-a of hi-res stills, concept art, behind-the-scenes images and even character posters featuring Thor and Loki, all of which have been added to our existing and new galleries below.
Principal photography has begun on Disney’s mystery adventure Tomorrowland, starring two-time Academy Award winner George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson. The film is directed, produced and co-written by two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird. Damon Lindelof and Jeffrey Chernov are also producers. Jeff Jensen and John Walker will executive produce with Bernard Bellew and Tom Peitzman, VFX producer serving as co-producers.
Although some of the bonus features for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University have been revealed, thanks once more to the BBFC, we now have full, explicit details for all of the additional content you’ll find on the discs.

Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have once more provided us with a series of what they call ‘fun facts,’ this time in support of their upcoming film, Thor: The Dark World in theaters on November 8, 2013.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
We have been provided with some additional details on the new bonus features that will support on the 50th Anniversary edition of Mary Poppins as it makes its Blu-ray debut on December 10, 2013 (now available for pre-order).
Mary-OKE will highlight popular music from the film, specifically ‘Spoon Full of Sugar,’ ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,’ ‘Step In Time,’ ‘Chim Chim Cher-ee’ and allows viewer to sing-along to animated words that display onscreen in unique ways.
As we reported yesterday, there is a prominent booth at the D23 Expo this weekend which will remain under cover until after today’s arena presentation covering upcoming live action films including Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland.
Thanks to a free app released today, appropriately titled ‘Tomorrowland D23,’ we now have some additional insight into what the pavilion will share with attendees — the mysterious contents of the case titled ‘1952’ reportedly discovered in the Animation building’s ‘morgue’ which served to inspire the film.
‘Well this is a shocker,’ said absolutely nobody when it came to Disney’s D23 Expo and Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland project’s presence there. Attendees of the D23 Expo which kicks off today will no doubt notice the massive translucently-curtained booth that shamelessly advertises which upcoming Disney project it’s there to support.
But attendees won’t be able to visit and explore it — at least not until after the Walt Disney Studios live action presentation on Saturday, in which the film will be talked about and teased by Bird who is also slated to appear at the Expo’s Dream Store for an appearance/signing as well.
