‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Names Additional Vocal Talent for Film

'Wreck-It Ralph' Teaser PosterTapping stars from the big and small screens, Walt Disney Animation Studios rounds out its voice cast for “Wreck-It Ralph.” Directed by Rich Moore (TV’s “The Simpsons,” “Futurama”) and produced by Clark Spencer (“Lilo & Stitch,” “Bolt”), the hilarious arcade-game-hopping adventure adds to its current roster, which includes John C. Reilly as Wreck-It Ralph, Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix Jr., Jane Lynch as Sergeant Calhoun and Sarah Silverman as Vanellope von Schweetz. “Wreck-It Ralph” hits theaters November 2, 2012.

‘Paperman’ New ‘Paperclips’ Featurette on ‘The Drawings;’ Limited Edition Book Announced

'Paperman'Walt Disney Animation has released the third of its installments in the ‘Paperclips’ series, a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind its newest animated short, Paperman. In the new segment, director  John Kahrs touches briefly on the legacy of the hand-drawn animation and how he believes that we are currently in the golden age of computer-generated imagery, but that he believes computers can be used to produce hand-drawn inspired images in addition to photo-realism.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ to Appear in SEGA’s ‘Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed’

After SEGA’s iconic character Sonic the Hedgehog was spotted as the face of keeping order in Wreck-It Ralph’s Game Central Station during a clip played during the Walt Disney Studios presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, it’s only natural that life imitate art and that Ralph himself would appear alongside Sonic on the small screen as well.

SDCC: ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Arcade Game Experience Brings ‘Fix It Felix Jr’ to Life

As part of the marketing campaign for Walt Disney Animation’s Wreck-It Ralph, the studio plans on introducing full-scale arcade cabinet versions of the film’s ‘Fix It Felix Jr.’ game, the home of the title character. While the cabinet has appeared at both Disney D23 Expo (as a view-only demo) and most recently at E3 as a broken, non-functioning machine, San Diego Comic-Con saw the first actual working versions of the faux-c. 1982 video game manufactured by the defunct TobiKomi video game company.

‘Paperman’ First Images in High Resolution

The whistle almost blew calling for quitting time, but after what seems like months of teasing, Walt Disney Animation Studios has finally provided us with these hi-res first images from John Kahrs’ revolutionary short, Paperman, which will play before Wreck-It Ralph in theaters beginning November 2, 2012.

In the revolutionary short, which uses a combination of hand-drawn animation with computer graphics, a young New Yorker has only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get the attention of the girl of his dreams. Paperman is an innovative short about destiny and the power of second chances.

Earlier this week, Disney Consumer Products held its annual holiday preview showcase in which it presents many of the new and exciting products that will be released during the fall and holiday seasons. While we hope to present to you just some of the great things you can expect to find on the shelves at Disney Store and other popular retailers later this year, we’d like to start of slow by focusing on a few specific collections, starting with toys inspired by Wreck-It Ralph which opens on November 2, 2012.

‘Frankenweenie’ 360 Degree Virtual Set Tours, New Concept Art, Tour Schedule Updates (Minor Spoilers)

Frankenweenie 360In a wonderful use of technology, Walt Disney Studios has produced a new website titled Frankenweenie360 which takes visitors on a virtual 360 degree tour of the sets of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie.

In tour 1, film producer Allison Abbate takes us through film unit 23 (at which point there is a total of 35 filming units), where they are preparing to film scenes involving a disaster at New Holland, California’s festival, titled ‘Dutch Day,’ described as a Fourth of July-type event. According to Abbate, the town is ‘obsessed with its dubious Dutch heritage.’ Along the way, we meet set dressers, lighting designers and animators all working on the film and sharing bits and pieces of their behind-the-scenes knowledge.
