Listen up, soldiers: the kitten whispers and tickle fights stop now. With one of the smallest production runs outside of its 25th Anniversary collection, Disney Store is now offering a 17″ collector’s doll version of Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun. Already equipped with the most tragic backstory ever, this faithful replica of the new character voiced by Jane Lynch as seen in the ‘Hero’s Duty’ game in Wreck-It Ralph is limited to an edition size of just 1000 pieces.
Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have shared with us a brand new still from Iron Man 3 which features Sir Ben Kingsley as Mandarin. Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
In honor of Wreck-It Ralph‘s debut in theaters tomorrow, Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with this hi-res image which they refer to as a standee, but essentially amounts to a triptych which combines the worlds of ‘Sugar Rush,’ ‘Fix-It Felix Jr.’ and ‘Hero’s Duty.’ Unfortunately the original image is a bit too large to share here, but we trimmed it down just enough to fit, so be sure to click on the image to expand it, then find and click on the resize arrow to see it at its much larger version.
Yahoo! Movies has exclusively debuted the first of three panels featuring the witches featured in Saim Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful set to open in theaters nationwide on March 8, 2013.
While there are, of course, four witches in the land of Oz, the Good Witch of the South never quite gets her due, so the triptych instead focuses on the remaining directions, beginning with the Wicked Witch of the West. Y! teases the figure represented in the piece is unknown, but we can’t help but notice a striking resemblance to Mila Kunis — who portrays Theodora — moreso than Rachel Weisz (Evanora) and certainly not Michelle Williams who plays the good witch (of the North) Glinda. Just sayin’.
Last night, Walt Disney Animation Studios held its world premiere for Wreck-It Ralph at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, where cast and crew gathered for the event. In addition to cast such as John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk and more, guests included music contributors Henry Jackman and Skrillex along with Disney Animation’s Ed Catmull, John Lasseter, Paperman director John Kahrs.
Another site has posted several Monsters University character poses it has received from Disney/Pixar. Among the illustrations of a younger, thinner James P. Sullivan and a younger, metallic Mike Wazowski are newly revealed characters including Art, Don, Squishy, Squishy’s Mom and the twin
s, Terri and Terry.
Interestingly enough, a cursory search turned up only one other mention of Squishy and that was in a PEZ candy sales page which displays a photo of Squishy, Mike W, Sulley and Randall as PEZ dispensers, available May 2013. On a tangent, the brochure also mentions an all new Disney Channel Original Movie for ‘Phineas and Ferb’s Christmas Vacation’ in 2013 when introducing its Candace dispenser.
Yesterday we brought you the first viral video for Wreck-It Ralph, a ‘behind the music’-style expose on Wreck-It Ralph titled ‘Behind the Screens.’ Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared its second video, ‘The Fix-It Felix Hammer by Fix-It Felix, Jr.’ which is a take on the classic ‘as seen on tv’ ads. It’s not quite as spectacular in our opinion and we’re not sure why they didn’t jump on the opportunity to call the ‘Mini Fix-It Felix Jr.’ the ‘Fix-It Felix Jr. Junior’ instead, but hey.
As an anonymous expert once famously put it, ‘video game characters? they’re a lot more complicated than you think.’ And thanks to Walt Disney Studios NZ, we’ve uncovered this shocking expose on the villain Wreck-It Ralph from the classic 1982 arcade video game, ‘Fix-It Felix, Jr.’ According to the documentary, filmed a la VH1’s ‘Behind the Music,’ we learn that life wasn’t always smashing for Ralph and how he broke new ground (as well as other things) trying to change his life for the better.
With just under a week to go before it releases its adaptation of ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ the video game for the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS, Activision has teased us with new concept art for the game featuring the dreaded cy-bugs from ‘Hero’s Duty.’
Here we get to see several variations of the cy-bugs including a juvenile (presumably freshly hatched from its egg), a flying minion, a lamp cy-bug (which has a few special secrets of its own) and the Queen, who dwarfs 9′ tall Ralph in this art.
