Living Social: Discount for ‘Mulan’ at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood

In honor of its release on blu-ray for the first time on March 12, Disney’s El Capitan Theatre will be featuring a limited run of the Walt Disney Animation classic Mulan on the big screen.

Through Living Social, the El Capitan is offering a special deal on individual tickets for showtimes during the weekends between February 9 and March 3 (except for February 24). Each ticket is available for just $11, representing a 27% savings over the regular price of $16.

Based on a 2,000-year-old Chinese folktale, Mulan follows a spirited young woman who, posing as a young man, bravely takes her father’s place in the Chinese army to defeat the Hun Shan-Yu. Featuring the unmistakable voices of Eddie Murphy, Ming-Na Wen, B.D. Wong, Donny Osmond, Miguel Ferrer, Harvey Fierstein, and Disney legend Lea Salonga, Mulan is a spectacular adventure the whole family can enjoy. Plus, Mulan herself appears live on stage at every show.

‘Brother Bear,’ ‘Atlantis,’ ‘Mulan,’ ‘Hunchback’ All Slated for March 2013 Release on Blu-Ray

Kida fans rejoice! Walt Disney Studios has called in the plumber and the clog has been cleared, resulting in a deluge of animated classics all being released for the first time on Disney blu-ray on March 12, 2013. While not all of have been officially confirmed to us by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, now is the time to start saving those pennies to complete your home video collection.

Continuing recent trends in providing the original motion picture in blu-ray format along with the direct-to-video sequels, first up on the list is the Brother Bear/Brother Bear 2 combo (available for pre-order) as well as Atlantis: The Lost Empire/Atlantis:Milo’s Return and The Hunchback of Notre Dame/The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, all three of which have been directly confirmed to us by WDSHE.

In addition, Amazon.com has also recently began listing Mulan/Mulan II for the March 12 release date (another listing for it has the artwork but no pre-order), essentially confirming that release. The Hunchback of Notre Dame/The Hunchback of Notre Dame II is also listed for pre-order on Amazon, with another listing showing the artwork.

At this point in time, all information provided to us is pointing at ‘classic DVD’ bonus features with nothing new added for the blu-ray releases.

Also being released on March 12, 2013 is Who Framed Roger Rabbit 25th Anniversary Edition as we have previously reported.

New Fantasyland ‘Princess Fairytale Hall’ Interior Concept Art

Although it had previously been shared with media at a prior event, Walt Disney World has just officially released this concept art of the interior of the Princess Fairytale Hall which will be in the space once consumed by Snow White’s Scary Adventures.

The new home for visiting royalty in the Magic Kingdom, Princess Fairytale Hall will feature walls of stone and stained glass windows, a spacious gallery adorned with portraits of Disney princesses and elegantly finished rooms where guests can meet Aurora, Cinderella and other princesses. Set to open in 2013, as part of the next phase of the New Fantasyland expansion after the opening on December 6, 2012, Princess Fairytale Hall will be located in the Castle Courtyard in the center of Fantasyland.
