How much does an image weigh? Not much we’re guessing, as Walt Disney Studios and Muppets Studio have graciously plied us with a literal ton of them, all in support of their newest film, The Muppets, in theaters nationwide on November 23, 2011.
A few days ago, we shared with you two images from the second Toy Story Toon, Small Fry, from Disney/Pixar which will premiere alongside Disney’s The Muppets on November 23. Today we get our first video sneak peek of the short, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios UK.
In Small Fry, Buzz Lightyear is left behind at a fast food restaurant when a kids’ meal toy version of Buzz takes his place. While Bonnie’s toys are stuck with the annoying three-inch-tall Buzz impersonator, the real Buzz is trapped in therestaurant at a support group for discarded toys. As Woody and the gang devise a way to rescue their friend, Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting.
It’s not easy begin green, especially if you’re the carpet that saw the foot traffic of all of the Hollywood elite that came out yesterday afternoon in support of Disney’s The Muppets which held its world premiere at the historic El Captain Theater in Hollywood.
The semi-finals have arrived and the competition is nothing short of intense as the four remaining couples charm audiences with three routines. Their first performance is an Argentine Tango, their second dance is either a Paso Doble or Samba — one of which is a style dance they have not yet performed — and their third dance will be the Cha Cha relay, in which all couples will dance to the same song. Their Cha Cha will not be scored, but it will be ranked by the judges: The couple who takes first place in the ranking will receive 10 points, the second-place couple will get 8 points, the third-place couple will get 6 points and the fourth-place couple will take 4 points. Monday night’s show also includes a fierce Pro Argentine Tango performance choreographed by world renowned Argentine Tango master dancers and choreographers Sandor and Parissa. Pro dancers Tony Dovolani, Kym Johnson, Kiki Nyemcheck, Sasha Faber and Oksana Dmytrenko will accompany Sandor and Parissa in this piece, live on “Dancing with the Stars,” on Monday, November 14 at 8:00 pm ET on the ABC Television Network.
Walt Disney Studios and Muppet Studio have provided us with even more hi-res publicity images from their upcoming release, The Muppets, in theaters November 23, 2011.
Added to our collection are publicity images of Statler and Waldorf, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker, Scooter, Rowlf, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, Sam the Eagle and Swedish Chef. As with the previous publicity images we have shared, we have maintained the original resolution so that you can zoom into to see the fine detail of the Muppets. Though Disney has famously severed ties with a particular fast food chain when it comes to kids meal toys, the subject matter isn’t off limits when it comes to film. In particular, Disney/Pixar’s newest Toy Story Toon, Small Fry, which will play before Disney’s The Muppets when it opens in theaters nationwide on November 23, 2011.
USA Today, which offers a sneak peek at the new short — written and directed by Angus MacLane, describes the short as a jealous ‘Happy Meal-type toy at a fast-food restaurant yearns to break out of his glass display case to play just like a real toy. He kidnaps Buzz Lightyear in an attempt to take over his play-filled existence.’
Walt Disney Studios and Muppets Studio released three additional clips via YouTube earlier today, two of which had been previously released in other incarnations, but are now being added to the online collection, the others can be found by viewing all of our previous entries on The Muppets.
Also shared today, via the official Facebook page of Disney Movie Rewards, is this wonderful look at the title treatment for Disney’s The Muppets from countries all around the world, including wherever Beaker hails from (where apparently they don’t collar their Ms like any good American would).
Walt Disney Studios released a new promo for its upcoming release The Muppets early this morning, this one consisting of a montage of clips from the film set to some Indian music in a rather convincing manner. Courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Australia, here is the ad in which the Muppets take over Bollywood:
When Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater, they help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater.
Retailing for $80, the Superstar 2.0 Kermit shoes feature a soft suede upper, the iconic adidas Superstar shell toe, Kermit sockliners and Kermit’s unmistakable felt collar over the tongue in honor of the original hip-hop artist.
The adiRise 2.0 Animal shoe — which retails for $100 — is based on the classic adidas basketball shoe, but features elements inspired by the famous drummer of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. It features a studded ankle strap with a gold lace jewel and drumstick print, plush collar lining inspired by Animal’s own fur, an Animal print on the tongue and sockliner and embossed drumsticks on the heel overlay.
