Although it’s intended for the UK market, with a little assistance from Google Translate, it’s fairly easy to navigate this self-proclaimed ‘The Muppets Zoom Poster‘ which takes the quad poster into a whole new realm with interactivity. Although you can’t zoom in too high a resolution on the poster itself, clicking on one of the characters offers the opportunity to check out a bio of each (although nothing more than we’ve already revealed here and here), hi-res wallpaper downloads, audio soundbites, video and even more.
A new trailer for Disney’s The Muppets has been released online, this one revealing quite a bit more of the supporting elements to the film’s main plot. Along with a bit of Rashida Jones in action as television executive Veronica, we also get bits of cameo appearances from celebrities including ‘Modern Family”s Rico Rodriguez, Jack Black, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris, to name but a few. Other highlights include a bit more of the Moopets (namely Foozie Bear and Miss Poog) and a touching rendition of Cee Lo Green’s ‘Forget You’ by Camilla and the chickens (as available on the soundtrack).
About a month ago, Walt Disney Studios and Muppet Studios provided us with a list of official character descriptions for the upcoming comedy, The Muppets, starring The Muppets (plus Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, et al.). The official list has now been updated and expanded on to include additional characters. Since we couldn’t see any blatant changes for the characters we already explored, we refer you to the original article here. When you’ve finished reading it, you can skip to here.
And here — as the theme to ‘Gilligan’s Island’ might say — is the rest:
Disney Channel has provided us with new stills from their upcoming episode of ‘So Random’ with special guest star, the original tantrum girl herself, Miss Piggy.
In the episode, which premieres this Sunday, October 2, at 7:30 pm ET/PT, the cast members of ‘So Random’ each try to convince Miss Piggy to appear in skits with their popular characters, such as MC Grammar and Taylor, but Piggy isn’t having any of it.
Eventually Piggy appears in a skit called ‘The Real Princesses of New Jersey’ in which she plays Rapunzel (or, ‘Punzel rather) and dishes the dirt with regal gal pals Cindy and Beauty.
As part of the festivities with hosting the ‘Jim Henson’s Fantastic World’ exhibition, the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City hosted a special pre-release screening of the documentary film, Being Elmo.
It’s a plethora of puppet pachyderm proportions as Walt Disney Studios has provided us with five new hi-res stills from The Muppets as well as publicity images for several of the main characters and, if that weren’t enough (it weren’t), a bunch of fun facts surrounding the film and its legendary stars, where you will learn, for example, which classic film played an integral part in re-creating the Muppet Theatre (which incidentally was re-built based on original blueprints from the Muppets Archive).
GARY (Jason Segel) is loyal to his brother Walter—the two do everything together. “Gary is from Smalltown, USA,” says Jason Segel (TV’s “How I Met Your Mother,” Forgetting Sarah Marshall), a longtime Muppet fan who created the role with himself in mind. “He’s very naïve, sweet and innocent, and he’s very much in love with his girlfriend Mary. He’s torn between his brother and growing into a new phase of maturation where it’s time to be with his girlfriend. He’s lived with his brother forever so that is his big struggle.”
Fresh from her recent appearance at last night’s Fashion’s Night Out event (which we have chronicled here), Walt Disney Studios has provided us with this in-depth one-on-one with the porcine princess herself, Miss Piggy, who will be joining Kermit the Frog and the rest of the Muppets in an original film, appropriately titled The Muppets, opening nationwide on November 23, 2011.
As an aside, the photo provided to us was at such high resolution and gives such incredible detail at full size, we felt obligated to try to maintain it best we could, so feel free to click on Piggy’s portrait to expand it further, then find the resize icon to view it at full size.
With exception to the Fashion Week-long ‘In-Flight Experience‘ from ABC’s ‘Pan Am’ which we shared yesterday, last night’s epic third annual Fashion’s Night Out event had me
running cabbing uptown and downtown, east side and west side throughout Manhattan in an attempt to catch everything I could Disney. From Disney Store, who participated for the first time, to Lisa Perry hosting ‘Pan Am’ to Opening Ceremony’s Muppet X collection with Miss Piggy, it was all one huge thrill ride of ‘E Ticket’ proportions (bad airline/Disney theme park double entendre-intended).
This holiday season, OPI pays homage to America’s favorite Muppet friends as they hit the big screen in Disney’s The Muppets. With an all-star cast including Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Kermit, Miss Piggy and the entire Muppet crew, the family comedy opens in theaters nationwide on November 23, 2011.
Inspired by the film’s namesake lively and colorful characters, OPI launches twelve limited-edition Nail Lacquers for Holiday 2011. “OPI is so excited to work with Disney to celebrate this long-awaited movie release,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Not only do The Muppets characters inspire fun, bright and joyful colors, the fashionable Miss Piggy lends her name to three high-shine pink-based hues, ranging from bold red flecked with silver to a multi-dimensional strawberry shade.”
