Most of the time, when you are planning to attend a Broadway event and have already purchased your tickets, you are out of luck if you are unable to attend the performance. Today, Disney Theatrical announced it is introducing an unprecedented ticket exchange program for those planning on attending performances of ‘Aladdin’ or ‘The Lion King.’ The new policy allows ticketholders for Disney’s Broadway shows — in advance and for any reason whatsoever — to change the date they see the show at any time up until two hours in advance of their scheduled performance. There is no limit to the number of times the tickets may be exchanged. Tickets must be exchanged at the original point of purchase via the Disney on Broadway Hotline, Ticketmaster (phone and web) or in-person at the respective show box offices (New Amsterdam and Minskoff Theatres), and a modest exchange fee of $12 per ticket applies. This service is available only to guests of Disney’s New York City productions of Aladdin and The Lion King, and the exchange may be made only for another performance of the production originally purchased. Specific terms and conditions follow.

Walt Disney Studios has just released its newest trailer for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, Into the Woods (December 25, 2014), which you can find embedded below. In case you missed any of them, our current gallery of stills from the film is also embedded below.
Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel — all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
As ‘Awards Season’ approaches, studios are once again beginning to assemble their ‘For Your Consideration’ websites and so it is with Walt Disney Studios who recently made its site public once again, revamped for the 2014-15 movie season. This time around, Walt Disney Studios appears to be pushing just Big Hero 6 and Into the Woods as well as shorts Feast and Lava (which presumably Disney would love to attach an Oscar to prior to the theatrical release of Pixar’s Inside Out).
Walt Disney Studios has provided us with several new high resolution stills from the upcoming musical film, Into the Woods (December 25, 2014). The new stills, which feature Johnny Depp as the Big Bad Wolf and Christine Baranski, Lucy Punch and Tammy Blanchard in the roles of Cinderella’s Stepmother and ugly stepsisters Lucinda and Florinda respectively, have been added to the beginning of our existing gallery below.
When the all new Frozen short, ‘Frozen Fever,’ was announced at the tail end of the tail end of the television special, ‘The Story of Frozen: Making An Animated Classic,’ speculation ran rampant that it would be attached to Disney’s live action Cinderella despite only being told it would arrive in ‘spring 2015.’ It was always our assertion that not only this would not be the case, but it hinted at a still possible home video release of a 3D Blu-ray for Frozen which we originally anticipated for this month (prior to the Sing-Along edition announced for November). While we were put on blast for being the site that cried wolf, new evidence points to this possibility.
First announced by Alan Menken during a press call ahead of his 2013 D23 Expo performance, it appears that the staged musical adaptation of Tangled will be making its Disney Cruise Line debut in May of 2015. The news was prompted by several casting calls announced on Disney’s official auditions calendar, which states that it is casting for an opening company with rehearsals to begin in January 2015 and to conclude in mid-May. As with most Disney Parks and Resorts entertainment, the show is being produced by Imagineering’s Disney Creative Entertainment division and will be directed by Gordon Greenberg, choreographed by Connor Gallagher, with Ed Whitlow as artistic and production director.
