Radio Disney to Launch ‘N.B.T.’ Inaugural Concert Tour in Chicago, September 5

Radio Disney kicks off its first-ever “N.B.T.” (“Next BIG Thing”) concert tour on Monday, September 5 in Chicago. Sponsored by Invisalign Teen, the eight-city tour will feature the season four “N.B.T” artists and “N.B.T.” alumni. Tour stops in New York City, Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and concludes in Celebration, Florida on Saturday, December 10. Tour venues will be a mix of local festivals, fairs and shopping centers.

Radio Disney’s ‘N.B.T.’ Season Four Kicks Off October 14

Radio Disney, the No. 1, 24-hour radio network devoted to kids, tweens and families, will kick off its fourth season of “N.B.T.” (Next Big Thing) beginning FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14. “N.B.T.,” a daily multiplatform feature that launched the careers of Kicking Daisies, Coco Jones and Hollywood Records recording artists Allstar Weekend, puts the spotlight on aspiring young recording artists and provides them the chance to showcase their music across national broadcast and online platforms. Over the course of 10 weeks, Radio Disney and Disney Channel audiences will be invited to look, listen and vote for their favorite artist at RadioDisney.com or on the Radio Disney Facebook page, or text* “NBT” to DISNEY (347639). Radio Disney, which Billboard magazine ranked twice among the Top 25 on its Maximum Exposure list of ways to get music noticed, will kick off its third season of “N.B.T.” (Next Big Thing), beginning WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15. “N.B.T.,” a daily multiplatform feature that launched the career of Hollywood Records recording artists Allstar Weekend, puts the spotlight on young recording artists and provides them with national broadcast and online exposure. Over the course of 10 weeks, Radio Disney and Disney Channel audiences will be invited to look, listen and vote for their favorite artist at RadioDisney.com or by texting* “NBT” to DISNEY (347639) — message & data rates may apply, kids under 18 must get parent’s permission first. Radio Disney will launch a new multi-platform daily programming feature, ”N.B.T.: Making It Big,” chronicling the rise of Allstar Weekend, the inaugural year “N.B.T.” (“Next Big Thing”) finalists now signed to Hollywood Records. Premiering on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, “N.B.T.: Making It Big” provides audiences on-air, online and via mobile devices an inside look at what it takes to make it big in the music industry. “N.B.T.: Making It Big” will take Radio Disney and Disney Channel audiences behind the scenes of Allstar Weekend’s journey leading up to the June 22 release of their debut album on Hollywood Records. Radio Disney Presents All New ‘Next Best Thing’ on Radio, TV, Online and Mobile Phones

Burbank, September 11, 2009  —  Radio Disney, which Billboard magazine ranked among the Top 20 on its Maximum Exposure list of ways to get music noticed, will launch an all-new edition of its “Next Big Thing” (N.B.T.), a daily multi-platform programming feature that puts the spotlight on young recording artists and provides them with national broadcast and online exposure.   Over the course of 10 weeks, beginning WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, Radio Disney listeners will be introduced to five unsigned N.B.T. artists, age 12-17, and invited to look, listen and vote for their favorite at RadioDisney.com or by texting “NBT” to DISNEY (347639) (Msg. & data rates may apply. If you’re under 18, get your parent’s permission first.) . The highest ranked N.B.T. artist will have the opportunity to have their single featured on the upcoming Walt Disney Records’ Radio Disney Jams 12 CD.  Simultaneously, Disney Channel will present a preview of each artist and a sampling of their musical talent in interstitials hosted by Tiffany Thornton (“Sonny With a Chance”).

Sister act and winners of Radio Disney's Next Best Thing contest, Jonnie and Brookie

A teen pop duo, “Jonnie and Brookie” of Phoenix, Arizona, have been named Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing” (N.B.T.) via a poll that tabulated nearly nine million votes on RadioDisney.com and via texts to Radio Disney from listener’s mobile devices, it was announced on air by Radio Disney’s Ernie D. Radio Disney’s N.B.T., a recurring on-air and online programming feature, puts the spotlight on young recording artists and allows them to get their music heard on a national level. Since its November debut, Radio Disney’s N.B.T. introduced 11 unsigned acts and invited its kid and family audience to look, listen and vote for their favorite new artist online or via text.

“Jonnie and Brookie” (sisters age 16 and 14, respectively) will perform in concert at an exclusive Radio Disney event to be announced shortly. They narrowly edged out three other frontrunners — AllStar, Bre Morgan and Comic Book Heroes.
