Nintendo of America and Disney Interactive have announced that they will be holding a launch event for ‘Disney Magical World‘ for the Nintendo 3DS at Nintendo’s Nintendo World in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. The event, which will feature ‘Dog with a Blog’ star G Hannelius, will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 12 pm – 3 pm.
The third and final wave of power discs for the first generation of ‘Disney Infinity’ will be released on April 1, 2014, the same day that the ‘Phineas & Ferb’ Toybox Set is scheduled to be released. This news comes via a new listing for the blind packs on DisneyStore.com.
The third series will consist of just fifteen discs rather than the usual twenty as five of the 10 discs sold by Toys ‘R’ Us will in fact remain exclusive to them. The discs are expected to include: Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat, Violet’s Force Field, Rapunzel’s Healing, Chernabog’s Power, Wall-E’s Fire Extinguisher, Toy Story Mania Blaster, Dragon Firework Cannon, Tantor, Phillipe, Angus, Dr. Calico’s Helicopter, Cruella De Vil’s Car, Wall-E’s Collection, Buy n Large Atmosphere and Disney Parks Parking Lot Tram.
Earlier today, Nintendo America announced its initial plans for its Nintendo 3DS portable gaming platform for 2014. Among the titles announced is ‘Disney Magical World’ which is slated to be available both in-store as well as through the Nintendo eShop beginning April 11.
According to Nintendo, ‘Disney Magical World’ is a new game featuring dozens of Disney characters in a variety of Disney-themed worlds. Players can customize their characters with hundreds of Disney-themed outfits and accessories, all while managing a café, planting crops and collecting Disney character cards. Players help different characters solve problems or find missing items.
Keep your hands warm with something frosty this holiday season! GameMill Publishing today announced the upcoming release of Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest, a side-scrolling platformer companion to the animated epic comedy adventure, Frozen, from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. ‘Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest’ is developed by 1st Playable Productions and will be available for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS hand-held systems in time for the movie’s release later this year.
Toys ‘R’ Us stores nationwide and Toysrus.com will become the ultimate retail destinations for consumers eager to explore the new, magical worlds of Disney Infinity when it officially launches this Sunday, August 18. Disney Interactive’s new video game platform, which will be available on the Xbox 360 game and entertainment system, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Wii U and iPad, integrates collectible figures featuring beloved characters from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios with an immersive video game experience that allows the characters to come to life and interact together – for the first time ever. In the U.S., Toys ‘R’ Us also will be the only place where fans can find figures from the Infinite Crystal Series, an assortment of exclusive, collectible figures that have enhanced in-game abilities, as well as exclusive Power Discs that unlock special in-game powers, gadgets, vehicles and more.
Disney Interactive is bringing together an exciting lineup of musicians to the ‘Disney Infinity’ in-game soundtrack including, Daft Punk, Danny Elfman, Michael Giacchino and more. Each of these songs, initially from Disney & Pixar movies, will be featured in the Toy Box mode – where players can build and customize their own unique virtual world using their favorite character, vehicles, settings and accessories from the Disney & Pixar family.
As per a thread located on DisneyInfinityFans.com, a French etailer had temporarily listed several ‘Disney Infinity’ items that had long been suspected, but had not been formally announced.
Among the items listed were toys (figures) featuring the likenesses of Elsa and Anna of Disney’s Frozen, Mickey Mouse (which we believe will be a Sorcerer’s Apprentice inspired item) and Jack Skellington. Also identified are toy packs branded for Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph (both consisting of perhaps just two characters based on the pricing). Oddly enough, a separate toy listing for Woody existed, casting doubts on the figures expected to be included in the Toy Story Space play set. An oddly named ‘girls’ pack of figures was also listed.
Via its official Tumblr site, Disney Interactive today announced it will be kicking off a national tour commemorating the release of ‘Disney Infinity.’
The tour will kick off this Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort from 4 pm to 9 pm PT and will then make its way across the country, ending up at New York City’s Times Square (home to both Toys ‘R’ Us and Disney Store flagship stores) on release day, August 18. Each stop along the way promises game demos, surprise guests, photo opportunities, giveaways, contests, entertainment provided by Radio Disney and more.
Whether it was intentional or not, the release of a new ‘Disney Infinity’ featurette titled ‘Creating Disney Infinity: Play Sets’ has officially confirmed our previous reports that ‘Toy Story Space’ does in fact appear to be an upcoming playset for the ‘Disney Infinity’ gaming platform.
The video also features minor clips from ‘Phineas and Ferb’ which we also believed to be an upcoming playset but are unclear if it had ever officially been announced as such (characters such as Phineas and Agent P have often been touted as playable characters in previous promotional videos).
From above the world of Cars, Disney’s Planes video games takes players on a high-flying, action-packed, fun-filled adventure with Dusty, a big-hearted, speed-loving crop duster who is voiced by actor and comedian Dane Cook. Players will take to the skies with Dusty and other characters, including Ishani, voiced by actress Priyanka Chopra; Echo, voiced by actor Anthony Edwards; and Bravo, voiced by actor Val Kilmer, as they embark on global missions, air races and grand adventures around the world. Available to own on August 6 and now available for pre-order on Nintendo gaming systems.
