Several popular toy manufacturers were showing some of the Frozen themed merchandise they’ll be offering at retailers later this year at the recent New York International Toy Fair. Below we explore just some of the Frozen items we got to check out firsthand from companies such as Hasbro, JAKKS Pacific and Wonder Forge.
At the 2016 New York International Toy Fair, TOMY previewed some of the toys it will be releasing this fall in support of Zootopia (March 4, 2016). Among the new items shown were new action figure packs such as Chief Bogo with ‘mouse criminal’ and Flash the Sloth with an unnamed mouse character. In addition, new play sets were introduced as well as a plush version of Gazelle ($24.99) that plays ‘Try Everything’ as performed by the character’s voice actor, Shakira. Also shown was Judy’s Carrot Recorder and Badge ($14.99) role play accessory set which records up to 10 seconds for playback.
It is Tsum Tsum Tuesday and we can’t think of a better way than spending it — besides acquiring more Tsum Tsum, that is — than checking out the future Tsum Tsum-themed product we’ll all be buying later this year. It was clear that when it comes to Tsum Tsum merchandise, we’re just at the bottom of the stack based on the many manufacturers and distributors that were exhibiting at the New York International Toy Fair. Below is just a sample of what we saw that we can share, along with some hints about other products we can’t share quite yet.
Mattel today announced its relationship with Disney Consumer Products for the Cars franchise has been renewed up to and including Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3. The agreement gives Mattel continued worldwide rights to manufacture, market and distribute toys and products based on the award-winning Cars franchise across multiple categories, including vehicles and playsets.
According to Mattel chairman and CEO, Christopher Sinclair, ‘Disney and Mattel have enjoyed an outstanding partnership for nearly 60 years, and we are thrilled to see the relationship continue in such a meaningful way.’
The Toy Industry Association (TIA) announced today that it is will induct Robert A. Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame in 2016. Iger was selected by members of TIA in recognition of his significant contributions to the industry and the impact his work has had on the lives of children worldwide. According to the announcement, Iger is ‘the steward of the world’s largest media company and some of the most respected and adored brands around the globe. He has grown Disney’s portfolio of beloved brands with the acquisition of Pixar (2006), Marvel (2009), and Lucasfilm (2012), three of the entertainment industry’s greatest storytelling companies. Always one to embrace new technology, Mr. Iger has made Disney an industry leader through its creative content offerings across new and multiple platforms.’
Ahead of the International Toy Fair, which kicks off this weekend in New York City, TOMY has previewed its upcoming selection of merchandise based on the new Disney Junior animated series, ‘Miles from Tomorrowland.’ Among the items pictured in the gallery below are:
- Basic figures (Galactic Miles, Superstellar Miles, Merc, Pipp, Loretta and Phoebe, 6.99 each), which glow when placed in the Stellosphere Charging Chamber and come with an accessory
Just ahead of the start of the 111th American International Toy Fair in New York, which kicks off on Sunday, February 16, Mattel and Fisher-Price have offered up some of their upcoming Disney licensed merchandise that will be rolled out throughout 2011.
