‘One Life to Live’ Cast Members to Check Into ‘General Hospital’

Frank Valentini, executive producer of “General Hospital,” announced today that Emmy Award-nominated Kassie DePaiva and Emmy winner Roger Howarth, along with fan favorites Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson, will reprise their “One Life to Live” characters and head to “General Hospital” as part of a new storyline for the multi-Emmy Award-winning daytime drama. Production begins late January 2012 in Los Angeles.

“We have a very exciting story planned for the citizens of Port Charles, with Sonny Corinthos at the center of it! I am confident viewers and fans alike will be excited for the arrival of John (Easton), Starr (Alderson), Blair (DePaiva) and Todd (Howarth),” said Valentini. “Incorporating characters from ‘One Life to Live’ continue the legacy of the show as we weave them into ‘General Hospital.’”

‘The View’ Dishes Up Details for ‘One Life to Live’ Tribute Episode

Filled with a recruited audience of self-professed fans of ‘One Life to Live,’ ABC’s daytime talk show, ‘The View’ has unleashed its roster of guests and segments for its tribute show to the long-running soap opera on which will air its final episode just hours later on Friday, January 13, 2012.

Just some of the ‘One Life to Live’ alum scheduled to appear on the special tribute are series creator Agnes Nixon, Judith Light (Karen Wolek), Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer), Jim DePaiva (Max Holden), Robert S. Woods (Bo Buchanan) and Hillary B. Smith (Nora Buchanan). Serving as special co-host will be six-time Emmy Award winner Erika Slezak (Viki Lord). Even more guests are promised to be announced on The View’s website along with ‘surprise’ appearances.

ABC’s ‘One Life to Live’ to Release Valentine’s Day Album on iTunes, February 8

Stars of ABC’s “One Life to Live” perform a selection of love songs for a Valentine’s CD entitled “The Sound of a Kiss.” The seven-track CD will be released on iTunes ($5.99) on February 8 with original songs performed by Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer), David Gregory (Robert Ford), Kelley Missal (Danielle Rayburn) and Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde).

“With the release of ‘The Sound of a Kiss,’ we continue to explore opportunities to incorporate music into ‘One Life to Live,’ which has always been very important to us,” said Frank Valentini, executive producer. “The audience has a passionate investment in our characters and this CD affords the opportunity to create a deeper connection between the fans and the show.”

Marvel Influences ABC’s Daytime Television with ‘What If…’ Webisodes

What if Spider-man joined the Fantastic Four? That was the topic of the very first ‘What If’ comic title from Marvel way back in 1977. Although there wasn’t ever likely to be a ‘What if Marvel joined the Disney family?’ title, we’re all beginning to catch our first glimpses of the new relationship, from Disney selling Marvel merchandise throughout its theme parks to awkwardly and backhandedly promoting the current slate of Marvel Studios films as they continue to be distributed by Paramount.

The Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) Scores 19 Daytime Emmy Awards

The Disney/ABC Television Group received 19 Daytime Emmy Awards at the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards presented this weekend, August 29th and 30th.

ABC’s “The View” received four Daytime Emmy Awards and made history when the honor of Outstanding Talk Show Host was bestowed on Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It was the first time in the 36 year history of NATAS that multiple talk show hosts were bestowed this honor. The women of “The View” have been nominated for 12 consecutive years in this category; this was their first win.

Other wins for ABC’s “The View” include Outstanding Directing in a Talk Show/Morning Program for Director, Mark Gentile; Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling and “Outstanding Achievement in Makeup.

ABC Daytime and SOAPNet Present Stagecoach Country Music Festival in California

ABC Daytime and SOAPnet have signed on as the presenting sponsor of the 2009 Stagecoach Country Music Festival powered by Toyota. The event, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will be a part of ABC Daytime and SOAPnet’s Soap Nation Tour, an ongoing initiative to bring the stars to more fans in more cities more often. As part of the sponsorship, actors from all three soaps, “All My Children” (AMC), “One Life To Live” (OLTL) and “General Hospital” (GH), will be integrated into the event, introducing musical acts and interacting with fans on the Mane Stage.
