‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spin-off, ‘Ravenswood,’ to Premiere in October; ‘PLL’ Renewed for Fifth Season
ABC Family has greenlit the original one-hour drama series ‘Ravenswood,’ a spin-off of their number one- rated series ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ ‘Pretty Little Liars’ has also been picked up for a fifth season it was announced today by Michael Riley, President ABC Family. Both series will be produced by Warner Horizon Television.
From ‘Pretty Little Liars’ executive producers I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Joseph Dougherty and Leslie Morgenstein, ‘Ravenswood’ will center on a town, not far from Rosewood, PA (the home base of ‘Pretty Little Liars’), which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly find themselves connected by this fatal curse and need to dig into the town’s mysterious and terrible history before it’s too late for each of them. The series will premiere on ABC Family following the annual “Pretty Little Liars” special Halloween episode in October 2013.

Season 4 of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ will premiere Tuesday, June 11, on ABC Family, as the Liars strive to make sense of the mysterious ‘Red Coat’ and what plans he or she may have in store for them.
ABC Family will kick off the New Year with all new episodes of returning original hit series and fan favorites “Switched at Birth,” “Bunheads,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Lying Game,” all set to premiere the second week of January 2013, with two nights of original programming. The second season of ABC Family’s award-winning drama series, “Switched at Birth,” begins Monday, January 7th 8:00PM – 9:00PM ET/PT. This season sees dramatic changes in the lives of the Kennish and Vasquez families as a result of the verdict in the baby switch trial. Gilles Marini joins the cast in season two as a series regular. With an array of deaf and hard-of-hearing actors, including scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language, “Switched at Birth” was recently honored with a Television Critics Association Award for Youth Programming and an Imagen Award for Best Primetime Program. ABC Family’s critically-acclaimed series, “Bunheads,” from Executive Producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, starring two time Tony Award-winning actor Sutton Foster, will return with all-new episodes on Monday, January 7th at 9:00PM – 10:00PM ET/PT. The new episodes pick-up a couple of months after Michelle has left Paradise to try and return to her former life in Las Vegas.
In all-new episodes of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” returning on, Tuesday, January 8th, 8:00PM – 9:00PM ET/PT, Radley Sanitarium has given Mona a clean bill of health and she is headed back to the halls of Rosewood High, much to the Liars’ dismay. A special “Pretty Little Liars” Halloween-themed episode with musical guest star Adam Lambert (“American Idol”) will premiere on Tuesday, October 23rd (8:00PM – 9:00PM ET/PT), as part of ABC Family’s “13 Nights of Halloween” programming event.
“The Lying Game” will return with all-new episodes on Tuesday, January 8th, 9:00PM – 10:00PM ET/PT. As the twins’ saga continues in season two, there are more surprises, secrets and lies. The girls’ recently revealed birth mother Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) lures Sutton (Alexandra Chando) into her plans for the Mercer family. Emma (Chando) grows closer to Thayer, while still being drawn to Ethan, who has started to reconnect with Sutton. Kristin feels betrayed after Ted came clean about his long ago affair with Rebecca, but Ted might be hiding even more shocking revelations. And Mads connects with a mysterious new guy in town who brings a whole new level of secrets with him.
In true ‘A’ style, ABC Family is sending fans on a scavenger hunt across the Internet to solve a mysterious riddle from the diabolical lead antagonist in the hit series ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ which premieres for its third season Tuesday, June 5th at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The new ‘Pretty Little Puzzle Hunt’ game is launching today at www.abcfamily.com/prettylittlepuzzlehunt with a sinister message from ‘A:’ ‘I love games. Don’t you? But if you want a sneak peek of what the Liars are up to, you are going to have to play MY game…’
In the game, fans must find hidden rebus pieces scattered across popular websites and use them to unlock a secret password on ABCFamily.com/prettylittlepuzzlehunt. There will be new clues on the ABC Family web site every weekday beginning today, May 23, through May 31, 2012 (excluding Memorial Day) that lead users to rebus pieces on participating web sites. At the end of the hunt (June 1), the pieces have to be arranged in the correct order to reveal ‘A’s’ message and unlock the secret password to the exclusive clip. Only 250,000 passwords will be accepted so fans will have to be up for the challenge and finish the riddle quickly.
In the upcoming season premiere of ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer are thrown back into turmoil after one shocking night in ‘It Happened “That Night.”‘ Fans can prepare for the return to Rosewood in an all-day marathon starting at 11:00 AM ET/PT and running up to the one-hour season premiere at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
