Whether you’re a fan of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, NASCAR, diecast vehicles or any combination thereof, this limited edition replica of the Lowe’s NASCAR #48 Chevy SS driven by Jimmie Johnson is sure to be a fine addition to your collection.
The diecast is available in two sizes and three configurations. The 1:64 scale model measures approximately 3″ in length and is available for $6.95 while the 1:24 scale models measure 8″ in length. The stock finish model retails for $64.95 while the color chrome finish model retails for $89.95.
Note that as these are considered special event pieces, they are pre-orders with a tentative future shipping date of November 2013.

‘Monsters University’ NASCAR Experience by Lowe’s at Dover This Weekend
It’s been a monstrous year for NASCAR racer Jimmie Johnson who will be heading to Delaware this weekend after recently helping distribute supplies to victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. Johnson will be racing to break records at the Sprint Cup’s Dover International Speedway, aka ‘The Monster Mile.’ When it comes to the Sprint Cup, the future NASCAR Hall of Famer has at least tied, if not holds all the records at all seven tracks and this weekend could make Johnson Dover’s winningest driver yet.
Appropriately enough, Johnson’s #48 car will be painted in support of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, featuring all of the members of the Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity. The photo featured here, along with other angles, have been posted to the Team Lowe’s Facebook page.
In addition to the vehicle’s appearance during the race, Lowe’s Home Improvement will be hosting a Monsters University Build and Grow display in the Fan Zone where kids will be able to build their own Monsters University race car. The display will be open Friday 9:30 – 4:30, Saturday 8:30 – 3:00 and Sunday 7:30 – 1:00. Jimmie Johnson will also make an appearance on Sunday at 10:15.

‘Junior Ride-Alongs’ from Richard Petty Driving Experience Now Available at Disney World
Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE), the worldwide leader in stock car drive and ride entertainment, announced today that it will now offer “Junior Ride-Alongs” at its Walt Disney World® Speedway location in Orlando, FL.
RPDE’s “Junior Ride-Alongs” program will provide children, who are at least 48 inches in height, the opportunity to experience real-life racing excitement while they ride shotgun with a professional driving instructor for three thrilling laps in a specially equipped two-seat NASCAR race car.
“Junior Ride-Alongs” are possible as a result of RPDE’s partnership with The Joie of Seating, a premier fabricator of custom-fitted aluminum racing seats owned and operated by two-time NASCAR Nationwide series champion Randy LaJoie. The North Carolina-based company built custom racing seats for this program, specifically designed to ensure the safety and security of smaller bodies. These full containment racing seats feature built-in shoulder and head protection and a five-point safety harness that is the same design used by NASCAR drivers.
“For 10 years we’ve specialized in designing custom racing seats that provide the safest in-car experience,” says LaJoie, “Our extensive experience in the industry makes us confident your child will enjoy a safe and fun ride-along with RPDE.”

Now with “Junior Ride-Alongs” available just in time for summer, NASCAR racing can become a family affair at Disney.
