WDW Character Update: Tangled Meet & Greet Will Begin October 15 at Epcot

We reported earlier that the in-park appearance of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Disney’s Tangled, initially scheduled to begin on October 15 at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom had been postponed until October 25.

Yesterday, however, Cast Member-run WDW Character Hunt stated that the pair would in fact be making appearances starting on October 15, only at Epcot’s International Gateway instead at non-published, ‘random’ times. The duo will only be making appearances and will not be participating in any of the interactive elements expected to occur when the makeover-in-progress at Magic Kingdom’s Fairytale Garden is complete.

Disney’s ‘Tangled’ Video: ‘Found: Legendary Person Grounded For Life: Rapunzel’

Yesterday we brought you a series of clips from Disney’s Tangled which focused on thief (and perhaps hero) Flynn Rider which featured clips from the film not yet released. As we also reported, the series continues today, this time focusing on Rapunzel, voiced by Mandy Moore. It contains plenty of eye candy in the form of never-before-seen footage from the film, most particularly highlighting Rapunzel’s day to day activities.

Update 10/08/10 – Replaced Italian version with English version from Walt Disney Animation Studios

I was invited to a press event late this afternoon in New York City at which Walt Disney Studios screened Tangled in its semi-current unfinished format as well as a 20+ minute compilation of various scenes from TRON: Legacy, not unlike those recently held in Burbank. The event was hosted by Studios production head Sean Bailey who opened the presentation by presenting a 30 second tv spot for Secretariat, reminding us all that the movie opens on Friday.

Update: Disney Untangles ‘Double Tower’ Parody Situation with Bear Vasquez

Earlier this month, we brought you the plea of Bear Vasquez, the man behind the ‘Double Rainbow’ viral video sensation. You can refresh your memory by clicking on the link, but essentially Bear was upset because Walt Disney Animation Studios had attempted to create a viral video of their own promoting Disney’s Tangled parodying his video but made no attempt to reach out to Bear to at least seek consent. In short, Bear was simply seeking recognition for his efforts and at no time was concerned with financial compensation. Most of our readers sided with Bear and many of you signed and promoted our petition for Disney to recognize Bear and we are pleased to say it has some effect.

Photo Gallery: Cast and Crew of Disney’s ‘Tangled’ at Studios Press Event, Plus Disney Parks Meet & Greet Characters

no images were found

Earlier this month, we told you about a press event for Disney’s Tangled held at the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California. Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with some hi-res photos from the event featuring the cast and crew of the film, including the Disney Parks meet & greet versions of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

Having seen the photos in full detail and after learning some additional information, we believe our assertions that Rapunzel’s hair will be worked into the meet and greet scene were incorrect. Initially based on the original concept art released by Disney Parks, it would appear to be that case, but due to the following reason which would be considered a spoiler, we see that may have changed:
