Earlier today, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced its nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards, which will be televised live on the CBS Network on February 8, 2015 at 8 pm ET. To be considered eligible for the 2014 award season, songs and albums must have been released between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014.
We apologize but this content has been temporarily removed by request of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released a first-look at one of the deleted scenes that will be available on the Saving Mr. Banks blu-ray (available to own on March 18, now available for pre-order). Titled ‘Pamela Leaves,’ the scene features Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers contemplating leaving Los Angeles when she’s confronted by Tom Hanks as Walt Disney. It’s worth noting that according to information that we previously shared regarding the bonus features, there should be about a minute more of the film in the actual blu-ray clip.
Unofficially confirming a report we initially made over a month ago, Saving Mr. Banks will in fact be arriving on Disney Blu-ray on March 18, according to the newly dated listing on Amazon. Although the date has yet to be officially confirmed with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, this is in line with a previous listing from Walmart which has subsequently been removed.
Ahead of any official announcement, we have learned of several of the bonus features for the Blu-ray release of Saving Mr. Banks.
As we have previously reported, Walmart had added an entry for the film with a release date of March 18, 2014, although Walmart has since removed that listing and no official date has been announced.
The currently known bonus features include:
- Deleted Scene: Star Gaze (2:14)
- Deleted Scene: Nanny Song (2:19)
- Deleted Scene: PM Leaves (2:26)
- The Walt Disney Studios from Poppins to Present (13:59)

Walt Disney Studios opened its doors to the public this week for its exclusive early nightly screenings of Saving Mr. Banks which is currently in limited release in select cities with a wide release scheduled for December 20, 2013. The engagement offers the public a rare glimpse into the production studios which is an opportunity rarely afforded — outside of being personally invited, this is usually limited to the Adventures By Disney Backstage Magic Tour or occasional tours conducted by Disney D23, for which one must be a member. After a screening of the film (along with a sizzle reel of the film’s star-studded premiere), guests were invited to visit several key sites located on the Studios campus, many of which had a direct part in the production of Disney’s Mary Poppins. We were invited for an exclusive tour of the locations featuring props, sets, wardrobe and more from Saving Mr. Banks as well as other celebrated artifacts before the public had the chance to see them and are pleased to share photos and video from our experience.
As a quick follow-up to its listing for Frozen on Blu-ray (along with an apparent exclusive on the 3D version), Walmart is now listing Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks with a release date of March 18, 2014 as well. Perhaps most interesting, however, is that not only does this come ahead of any official announcement, but it appears the listing is currently only available through the direct link which was supplied to us by Walmart via its electronic catalog — it does not yet appear to show up in any search results, which may cast further doubt on whether the release date has any legitimacy at this point.
As part of its ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for the 2013 awards season, Walt Disney Studios today released the final draft of Kelly Marcel’s script for Saving Mr. Banks, a film which has already been garnering a string of accolades, particularly for Emma Thompson in the starring role of P.L. Travers.
The script, which is available on Disney’s For Your Consideration website, can be directly accessed here.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released this brief clip from the Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Blu-ray bonus feature, ‘Becoming Mr. Sherman.’ The segment features Richard Sherman and Jason Schwartzman — who portrays Sherman in the upcoming film, Saving Mr. Banks — discussing his role in the film. The clip also features quite a bit of behind-the-scenes footage from the film. Mary Poppins makes its blu-ray debut tomorrow, while Saving Mr. Banks opens in limited release this Friday, followed by a wide release on December 20, 2013.
