‘Shake It Up’ Line of Clothing, Doll Collection Announced

'CeCe and Rocky' D-Signed Collection from TargetDisney Consumer Products (DCP) today announced the first merchandising program inspired by Disney Channel’s hit buddy comedy series Shake It Up. Since January 2011 to date, Shake It Up is TV’s #1 series with Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14. The hit show centers on CeCe and Rocky, played by Bella Thorne and Zendaya, whose dreams of becoming professional dancers are realized when they land roles on a popular teen dance show. The new merchandise program for tweens plays up the characters’ dancing lifestyle and energy of the show and features a unique collaboration with Mattel and fashion collections at Target, K-Mart, Sears, Payless, JCPenney, Kohl’s, and Macy’s. The new products will begin arriving in stores this August through the holiday season.

‘Lemonade Mouth 2,’ ‘Shake It Up’ Movies in Development

Disney Channel announced at Licensing International Expo 2011 that Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) “Lemonade Mouth 2,” the sequel to the hugely popular movie, is currently in development, along with a DCOM based on the hit buddy comedy series “Shake It Up.”

‘Shake It Up’ Dance Contest Awards Winner Role on Future Episode

Leveraging the success of the hit dance-driven series “Shake It Up,” Disney Channel will launch its first-ever talent competition exclusively for kids and tweens, “Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off – ‘Shake It Up’ edition,” where kids will help decide the winner. Beginning Friday, July 1, with the consent of a parent, kids will have the opportunity to show off their “mad dance skills” by uploading their own short dance video, up to 45 seconds long, for a chance to compete in the ultimate dance off to air on Disney Channel this October. The Grand Prize includes a performance in an episode of “Shake It Up.”

‘Shake It Up’ Dances Its Way to Disney Channel in Fall 2010

Disney Channel has ordered “Shake It Up,” a buddy comedy centered around a teen dance show, created by Chris Thompson (“Laverne and Shirley,” “Bosom Buddies,” “The Naked Truth,” “Action”) and executive-produced by Thompson and Rob Lotterstein (“The War at Home,” “Ellen”). It stars 12-year-old Bella Thorne (“Big Love”) and 13-year-old Zendaya. The multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood, California, in July for a scheduled Fall 2010 premiere on Disney Channel. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide.
