Confirming an earlier report by Stitch Kingdom, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced that Maleficent will be available to own on Blu-ray, Digital and Disney Movies Anywhere on November 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order.
Ahead of any official announcements, Amazon has begun listing the Blu-ray edition of Disney’s Maleficent with a release date of November 4, 2014.
Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic Sleeping Beauty and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.
Walt Disney Studios has released a two new clips from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), titled ‘Pretty Bird’ and ‘Evil Fairy.’ In the clips, which can be found embedded below, you can watch a bit of the scenes in which Aurora meets Diaval in the Moors as well as when Aurora finds out the true identity of her ‘fairy godmother.’
Walt Disney Studios UK has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), titled ‘On the Battlefield.’ In the featurette, the cast and crew go on site for the filming of the great battle between the Moors (headed by Maleficent) and King Henry’s army.
Gushing over the concept art for Maleficent over and over? Guilty. The official Evil is the New Black blog, which gave us our first doses of the concept art (see the growing gallery embedded below), has now posted yet another image seen here which features Maleficent as she approaches King Stefan’s castle. Perhaps most interesting, however, is that the castle itself appears to take some direction from another castle: Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland, which was so-named not because of its resemblance to any structure in the 1959 animated film, but simply to promote the film (well before it opened, no less).
Walt Disney Studios has released a new clip from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), titled ‘In The Clouds.’ In the clip, which can be found embedded below, you can catch a glimpse at what Maleficent enjoys doing most — soaring through and above the Moors with the aid of her incredible wings.
Walt Disney Studios has released a new clip from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), titled ‘Fairy Godmother.’ In the clip, which can be found embedded below, Aurora has just awoken to find herself deep in the Moors filled with strange, fantastical creatures. But she’s about to come face to face with someone who’s no stranger to her at all.
As we announced yesterday, Disney Interactive today released ‘Maleficent Free Fall’ for Apple iOS and Android devices (now available through the App Store and Google Play respectively), the follow-up to its highly successful (and addictive) ‘Frozen Free Fall.’ So how does the new game stack up versus its predecessor? After about an hour and several levels of play, here’s my take:
Walt Disney Studios has just released a new featurette for Maleficent (May 30, 2014) titled ‘Light vs Dark’ which features Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning and director Robert Stromberg talking about the focus of the film. The featurette also features a little bit of new footage. You can find the featurette embedded below.
Walt Disney Studios has released a new clip from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), titled ‘Queen of the Moors.’ The clip, which can be found embedded below, shows how the Moors have been changed since Maleficent became the de facto leader, ensuring that all potential contact with the human world be cut off by creating the wall of thorns.
