CONFIRMED: ‘Maleficent’ on Blu-ray with Deleted Scenes in November

‘Maleficent’ on Blu-ray in November

'Maleficent' PosterAhead of any official announcements, Amazon has begun listing the Blu-ray edition of Disney’s Maleficent with a release date of November 4, 2014.

Maleficent explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic Sleeping Beauty and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

SDCC: Toys ‘R’ Us Exclusives for ‘Maleficent,’ ‘Star Wars’ and More (Full Product Shots)

Over the weekend, Toys ‘R’ Us teased their 2014 exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con, which will be available at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343 as well as online in limited quantities starting July 24. Toys ‘R’ Us has been kind enough to provide us with additional photos of its items which include a fantastic winged Maleficent doll as well as an exclusive Star Wars Black Series set, My Little Pony and more. FIRST LOOK: Disney Fairytale Designer Collection for 2014; Upcoming Dolls from Disney Store

Frozen Animator's Collection Doll Gift Set

During an annual holiday preview from Disney Consumer Products held in New York City, we were given a first look at many new items coming from Disney Store and other Disney licensees including the dolls featured in this article that will be available exclusively from Disney Store and DisneyStore.com.

Pictured left is the next entry in the popular Animators’ Collection series of toddler dolls, deluxe editions. Following both Cinderella and Ariel are Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen. Sold together as a set for $99.95, the dolls are featured in their nightgowns with matching blankets and a plush Olaf, plus an alternate complete set of wardrobe to wear now that the sky is awake. Also on the Frozen (hot) front is a two-doll pack of Ice Skating Anna and Elsa dolls. Both sets available fall 2014.

‘Maleficent’ Concept Art Gets Progressively More Captivating

Gushing over the concept art for Maleficent over and over? Guilty. The official Evil is the New Black blog, which gave us our first doses of the concept art (see the growing gallery embedded below), has now posted yet another image seen here which features Maleficent as she approaches King Stefan’s castle. Perhaps most interesting, however, is that the castle itself appears to take some direction from another castle: Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland, which was so-named not because of its resemblance to any structure in the 1959 animated film, but simply to promote the film (well before it opened, no less).
