Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for the original motion picture soundtrack to Disney/Pixar’s Cars 2 with an anticipated release date of June 14, 2011. No additional information is available at this time other than it is scored by Michael Giacchino.
Amazon.com also now lists Rev/Racers Lightning Mcqueen and Siddeley Spy Jet from Mattel as being available starting May 16. Previously we were aware the Cars 2 toys would begin rolling out in May in anticipation for the June 24 film, with about 25% of the more than 300 items being held off until fall 2011.
This is your first opportunity to hear the new take on the classic opening theme by Zooey Deschanel, which — as we mentioned yesterday — includes an awkward introduction of Tigger, albeit not nearly as awkward as omitting him completely as the original 1977 film, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh had done. It took a few more months than we initially anticipated when we first talked about it back in August, but the original game score to Epic Mickey by Emmy Award-winning composer Jim Dooley hit the virtual shelves of iTunes yesterday. Twenty tracks in all are included in the soundtrack which can be purchased online now for $9.99 for the complete album or $.99 per individual track.

Amazon.com has listed the original score and soundtrack for Disney’s Tangled with a release date of November 16, 2010.
Credited with a score by Alan Menken and original songs by Menken and Glenn Slater, the entry is void of any tracklist at this time but we do know that the film contains songs titled ‘I See the Light,’ ‘When Will My Life Begin?,’ ‘Mother Knows Best’ and ‘You Are My Forever.’
Disney’s Tangled will be released in theaters nationwide on November 24.
Buena Vista Records will release two albums capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved books and visionary director Tim Burton. ALMOST ALICE is a 16-song compilation featuring ALICE IN WONDERLAND’S end credit track “Alice (Underground)” written by Avril Lavigne and produced by Butch Walker.
