On Friday, March 30, Disney Junior will premiere its first ever crossover episode featuring Handy Manny (voice of Wilmer Valderrama) and Special Agent Oso (voice of Sean Astin) in ‘The Manny with the Golden Bear.’ The half hour special episode will premiere on Disney Channel at 12:00 pm ET/PT with replays on the brand new Disney Junior Channel. In the episode, Handy Manny and his tools visit Special Agent Oso to help him fix a broken bicycle.

Disney Junior has provided us with these first look images from the special episode along with two clips from the show.

In the first clip, Manny and his Tools are introduced to Oso by a mutual friend, David. Oso wishes to help David to learn how to ride his bike, but first Manny and his Tools must fix it.

Meanwhile in the next clip, Manny and the Tools have hitched a ride aboard Oso’s Whirly Bird so they can visit Kelly’s Hardware Shop, but run into a little misunderstanding along the way.

‘The Manny with the Golden Bear’ was written by Krista Tucker, from a story by John Loy and Ford Riley. The episode was directed by Jamie Mitchell.

Disney Channel Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Handy Manny Special, New Oso, Interstitials

PHOTO © DISNEY JUNIORDisney Channel celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month beginning Thursday, September 15 with a host of original programming, including kid-focused interstitials highlighting family heritage and cultural traditions. A brand new “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue” special, featuring guest stars Ed O’Neill (“Modern Family”), Freddy Rodriguez (“Ugly Betty”), George Takei (“Star Trek”) and Harold Perrineau (“Lost”) alongside series star Wilmer Valderrama, will also debut, along with a new episode of “Special Agent Oso” featuring Rita Moreno (“West Side Story”), Rico Rodriguez (“Modern Family”) and Raini Rodriguez (“Prom”).

Premiering Thursday, September 15 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior, the new interstitial series, “This Is Me,” features real-life kids talking about what makes them and their families unique, including favorite foods and traditions that help define their family origins. Disney XD will debut new spots highlighting stars Ryan Ochoa (“Pair of Kings”) and Mateo Arias (“Kickin It”) discussing their family traditions and role models.

Also on Thursday, September 15, Disney Junior will debut a new episode of “Special Agent Oso” (12:30 – 1:00 p.m., ET/PT) featuring guest stars Rita Moreno, Rico Rodriguez and Raini Rodriguez. In the episode titled “For Tamales with Love/Piñata Royale,” Oso teaches Carmen and her cousins how to make their abuela’s (voiced by Moreno) famous tamales and helps Luis (voiced by Rico Rodriguez) and Miguel with a piñata for their sister Mariana’s (voiced by Raini Rodriguez) quinceañera.

The new 45-minute special, “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue,” premiering Monday, October 3 (1:00-1:55 p.m., ET/PT), follows loveable handyman Manny Garcia (voiced by Valderrama) and his talking tools. They travel to Concrete Falls to help Manny’s brother, Rubén (voiced by Freddy Rodriguez), save the family’s auto repair shop before Mayor Johnson (voiced by O’Neill) tears it down. Takei and Perrineau also guest star as residents of Concrete Falls. On Monday, September 19, DisneyJunior.com will launch a new “Handy Manny Great Garage Rescue” micro-site featuring the new game, “Handy Manny’s Fix it Fast Garage,” where kids can help Manny and the tools fix up old cars by identifying the problem and picking the correct tool out of Manny’s toolbox. The site also features new recipes and crafts themed to the episode.

Brad Garrett Joins Second Season of Playhouse Disney’s ‘Special Agent Oso,’ Premiering July 10

Buffo the Buffalo as voiced by Brad Garrett on Disney Channel's 'Special Agent Oso' © DisneyAcademy Award-winning comedy legend Mel Brooks, Emmy Award-winning Brad Garrett and famed Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz guest star in the second season of Disney Channel’s Emmy-nominated Playhouse Disney series, “Special Agent Oso,” starring Academy Award nominee Sean Astin. The season premieres on SATURDAY, JULY 10 (8:00–8:30 a.m. ET/PT), with new episodes every Saturday throughout July and August.

The season will include the introduction of two new special agent characters: Buffo the water buffalo, voiced by Brad Garrett, is a slightly clumsy and excitable inventor charged with creating all of Oso’s special agent gadgets. And Oso finds a new sparring partner in special agent Musa, a mysterious stuffed animal ninja who has taken a vow of silence and dons a traditional keikogi.

Mel Brooks, whose grandson is a fan of the series, guest stars as snoring Grandpa Mel. Lou Holtz guest stars as the football-playing Uncle Lou. Other guest voices include Lisa Loeb, Rita Moreno, Ming-Na, Freddy Rodriguez and Rebecca Romijn.

The hit interactive series emphasizes discovery, humor and organizational skills for preschoolers. Storylines in the upcoming season model social and life skills, from the importance of telling the truth to what to do if you get lost, as well as many fun physical outdoor activity-themes, including playing catch, miniature golf, riding a scooter, playing tag and throwing a football.

Paying homage to special agent classics, the series follows Oso, voiced by Astin, a lovable yet bumbling stuffed panda bear who works for U.N.I.Q.U.E. (United Network for Investigating Quite Usual Events), an international organization of stuffed animals charged with helping kids accomplish everyday tasks such as mailing a letter, cleaning their room or learning how to use the library.

Disney Channel to Offer Green-Themed Programming Starting April 17

Disney Channel celebrates Earth Day with green-themed episodes of its hit series, each conveying the importance of conservation, recycling and using sustainable natural resources, beginning SATURDAY, APRIL 17.

For the youngest viewers, Disney Channel will present a new episode of “Handy Manny,” an Environmental Media Association Award-winning series, guest starring eco-crusader “Sustainable Dave” Chameides and Lance Bass, and new eco-themed episodes of “Special Agent Oso” and “Imagination Movers.” PlayhouseDisney.com will launch a new “Special Agent Oso” game entitled “Recycling is Forever,” on THURSDAY, APRIL 1, in which kids can help Oso identify, sort and properly place recyclable items in the correct bins to earn a special recycling Digi-Medal.

For older kids and tweens, Disney Channel will feature encore eco-conscious episodes of “Phineas and Ferb,” “Hannah Montana,” “The Suite Life On Deck” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

New Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green on-air messages featuring multi-platinum recording artists and actors Joe Jonas (“JONAS”) and Demi Lovato (“Sonny With A Chance”), stressing the importance of protecting the planet’s oceans and waterways, will debut on Earth Day. Kids can add to the more than 1.5 million Friends for Change “pledges” that have already been made by visiting Disney.com/ProjectGreen and committing to help local habitats.

Playhouse Disney Ushers in Holiday Season with Themed Episodes of Popular Shows

Playhouse Disney will usher in the holiday season with new themed episodes of “Special Agent Oso,” “Imagination Movers” and “Jungle Junction,” beginning SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 (8:00–11:00 a.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The month-long programming event includes the television premiere of “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

New episodes include:

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5

“Special Agent Oso” (8:00 a.m. ET/PT) – In “For Your Ice Only/Coldfingers,” Special Agent Oso puts his Keeping Your Balance Training Exercise on hold and glides in to help Carina learn to ice skate in time for a friend’s birthday party, and then helps some friends learn how to make a snowman.

“Imagination Movers” (10:00 a.m. ET/PT) – In “Happy Ha-Ha-Holidays,” it’s Christmas Eve and Santa seems to have lost his jolly ho-ho-ho.  The Movers must get to the bottom of the problem and help Santa restore his laugh in time for Christmas.

“Jungle Junction” (10:30 a.m. ET/PT) – In “The Night Before Zipsmas/A Gift for Zooter,” as Miss Jolly shares a classic holiday tale, the Wheelers go on a nighttime ride to try to get a glimpse of Ellysanta, and Ellyvan sets out to give Zooter the perfect gift.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12

“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Adventures in Wonderland” (9:00 a.m. ET/PT) – When Donald’s birthday gift for Daisy – a mechanical cuckoo bird – flies away, Mickey and pals go on a wild, imaginative “Alice in Wonderland”-styled adventure to retrieve the runaway gift.

“Imagination Movers” (10:00 a.m. ET/PT) – In “Snow Day,” when Nina and the Movers get snowed in at the Warehouse, Dave creates a Super Snow Vacuum to suck up the snow blocking the front door.  When the vacuum bag bursts, it leaves the Warehouse filled with snow and the Movers with the task of figuring out how to melt the snow.

On the Disney Channel’s Secret Service, Special Agent Oso Assigned Second Season

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its hit Playhouse Disney animated series, “Special Agent Oso,” starring Academy Award nominee Sean Astin. The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, senior vice president, Playhouse Disney Worldwide.

The interactive series emphasizes discovery, humor and organizational skills. Paying homage to special agent classics, the series follows Oso, voiced by Astin, a lovable yet bumbling stuffed panda bear who works for U.N.I.Q.U.E. (United Network for Investigating Quite Usual Events), an international organization of stuffed animals charged with helping kids accomplish everyday tasks such as mailing a letter, cleaning their room or learning how to use the library.

Kanter said: “‘Special Agent Oso’ has launched stronger and faster than any preschool series in our history – not just in the U.S., but around the world. This wonderfully playful, energetic series is all about problem solving, with endearing Oso enlisting kids at home to help solve the everyday problems of preschoolers everywhere.”

Astin said: “I’m so proud of this show, especially because my kids have connected with it and that makes me cool in their book. I can’t wait to start recording Oso’s new missions for the second season with our fantastic technical team and my incredibly talented castmates.”

Disney Channel Presents ‘Special Agent Oso’ Marathon, Featuring New Episode and Viewer Painted Digi-Medals

Disney Channel will present a marathon of its newest hit, “Special Agent Oso,” an animated series for preschoolers starring Sean Astin, SATURDAY, JUNE 13 (6:00 – 10:00 a.m. ET/PT). The marathon will feature eight episodes, including the premiere of a new episode, “The Living Flashlight / Sand Castle Royale,” at 8:00 a.m. ET/PT. Online at PlayhouseDisney.com preschoolers can digitally paint their own Digi-Medals featured in the series and then submit their virtual creation for the opportunity to be highlighted on Disney Channel during the marathon.

“The Living Flashlight” – When Theo and Oliver find their flashlight isn’t working, Special Agent Oso leaves his Deep Sea Training Exercise to shed light on the problem.

“Sand Castle Royale” – When Katie wants to surprise her Mom by building a sandcastle, Special Agent Oso leaves his Forest Tracking Training Exercise and heads to the beach to help Katie turn ordinary buckets of sand into a royal castle.
