Earlier this evening, Disney legend Alan Menken kicked off a new series at Lincoln Center in New York City titled ‘Artist to Artist’ with the premise that a newcomer to the industry would have the opportunity to interview a master of the craft.
While the majority of the interview included Menken recalling his storied legacy in the world of musical theatre, the closing end of the production ended on what Menken is currently working on. Of the numerous projects Menken was able to recall (the Tangled Disney Cruise Line show and animated series not among them), one he spoke at length about was the Beauty and the Beast live action remake starring Emma Watson.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced the Blu-ray and Disney Movies Anywhere release of Muppets Most Wanted: Unnecessarily Extended Edition on August 12, 2014. The home edition of the Muppets comedy will feature three different cuts: the Original Theatrical Cut, the Statler and Waldorf Cut and The Unnecessarily Extended Cut, featuring 12 minutes of exclusive scenes not shown in theaters.
Additional bonus material includes: the laugh-out-loud gag reel, ‘The Longer, Longest Blooper Reel in Muppets History;’ ‘Rizzo’s Biggest Fan’ featurette; and the music video for ‘I Can Give You What You Want’ performed by Bret McKenzie.
Walt Disney Records and Vevo today debuted the music video for ‘I’ll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu)’ performed by songwriter and Oscar winner Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords, from the original motion picture soundtrack now available from Amazon and iTunes. In addition, the track is also being made available as a free bonus download when you purchase a ticket in advance for the film from Fandango.
In the film (and on the soundtrack), the song is performed by Constantine in an attempt to win over Miss Piggy by promising her virtually anything she dreams of.
