‘Star Wars Battle Pod’ Arcade Game to Launch in 2015; NYCC Preview

Star Wars Battle PodsBandai Namco today announced the upcoming worldwide launch of ‘Star Wars: Battle Pod,’ a high-speed arcade game set in the Star Wars galaxy. Featuring arcade-exclusive gameplay on a unique dome screen enveloping your entire area of sight, ‘Star Wars: Battle Pod’ will first be available with a U.S. launch in January 2015 at participating arcades around the country. For those in the New York City area who don’t wish to wait to check out the game, it will be on display at Dave and Buster’s in Times Square through November 2.

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' 'The Lost Missions' on Blu-rayAhead of any official announcements, Amazon has begun listing the sixth and final season of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ — dubbed ‘The Lost Missions’ — on Blu-ray and DVD with a release date of November 11, 2014 (now available for pre-order).

The final installment in the animated series finished on Netflix after having run on Cartoon Network for the first five seasons. It is also currently available on iTunes.

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Renewed for Second Season

One day ahead of a highly anticipated television premiere, Disney Channels Worldwide President and Chief Creative Officer, Gary Marsh, announced plans to produce a second season of the animated series “Star Wars Rebels” from Lucasfilm.

Marsh said, “The global expectations for this series could not have been any higher. And I am proud to say that the team at Lucasfilm has delivered something that has surpassed even that incredibly high bar – artistically and thematically.”

‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion,’ Series Premiere Dates Revealed

'Star Wars Rebels'Ahead of any official announcements, we have learned that the global television debut of the hour-long special, ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ will premiere on Disney Channels around the world on Friday, October 3 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. Airing in 163 countries and in 34 languages, the series itself will also begin airing on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on Disney XD.

One day after the series begins airing, on October 14, the ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion’ episode will be available to own on DVD — now available for pre-order.

Marvel to Launch Post-‘Episode IV’ Canon ‘Star Wars’ Titles in 2015

Marvel Entertainment and Lucasfilm today announced that three new titles will mark the return of the Star Wars franchise to Marvel comics beginning in January 2015. The new series will be considered canon and take place immediately after the events of Episode IV: A New Home.

Star Wars chronicles the days following the destruction of the first Death Star. There will be big moments for everyone, from Han to R2-D2. But a major part of the narrative will be driven by Luke Skywalker and his journey of discovery, a journey that will decide the fate of the entire galaxy.’

REVIEW: ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Screening at San Diego Comic-Con

'Star Wars Rebels'This is a placeholder for my review of the first episode of Disney XD’s ‘Star Wars Rebels’ that was screened last night to an invitation-only crowd at San Diego Comic-Con. It is a placeholder because I did not have the opportunity to actually attend the screening held at the Reading Theater in the Gaslamp District. Perhaps when I actually get to see ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ I will update this article. Until then, this is a placeholder. And in order to fill the space which is being held, I will indulge my self and explain just why it’s a placeholder.

‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion,’ ‘Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars’ Available for Pre-Order

'Star Wars Rebels'Ahead of any official announcements, Walmart today began accepting pre-orders for two upcoming DVD releases: ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ and ‘Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars.’ Neither title offers a release date at this time, although the timing could not be more appropriate given the start of the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.

Presumably ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ is the full title of the upcoming hour-long special that will air in October, serving as the lead-in for the Disney XD series which takes place between Episodes III and IV in the Star Wars saga.

WATCH: ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Extended Trailer; Debuts October 2014

'Star Wars Rebels' Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Lucasfilm has just released an extended trailer for its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ which will debut as a one hour special on Disney XD in October.

The Jedi have been wiped out and the Empire spreads tyranny through the galaxy. Hope runs thin. But on the small planet of Lothal a big change is looming. A group of rebels meet a 14-year-old con artist named Ezra and soon it’s clear their destinies are linked. Aboard their ship, the Ghost, Ezra and the rebels embark on an adventure to ignite a rebellion and strike back against the Empire.
