StarWars.com has announced that Disney Parks will offer a limited-edition Boba Fett Disney Racer for purchase at Celebration V. The collectible is nickel-plated and will be limited to just 500 pieces.
Walt Disney Imagineer and show writer Jason Surrell offers just a tad more information than he has already shared with us for The Last Tour to Endor hard-ticketed event taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World on August 14.
One of the event’s festivities will be a ‘mash-up’ live-action stunt show in which Indiana Jones meets Star Wars. The show is appropriately titled ‘Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom: A Fan Film of ‘Epic’ Proportions.’ The following clip from Walt Disney World provides the few details available:
Disney Theme Parks merchandise has posted a page advertising many of the Disney collectibles that will be available exclusively to attendees at the Star Wars Celebration V event taking place in Orlando, August 12-15.
Among the items is a limited edition (10,000 pieces) ‘sneak preview’ collectible of the Star Tours StarSpeeder 1000. As many Star Tours enthusiasts know already, the Star Tours company currently operates the StarSpeeder 3000, a descendant of the 1000 model. As Star Tours II includes material inspired by Episodes 1-3, the vehicle itself will also regress to the earlier 1000 model, so this collectible gives those attending Celebration V a sneak peek at the ‘new’ ride vehicle. It will retail for $24.95.
StarWars.com checks in with popular Walt Disney Imagineer and Last Tour to Endor show director Jason Surrell as he talks about the preparation going into some of the exclusive events guests will get to experience first hand as part of the special hard-ticket event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 14 commemorating the transition of Star Tours into Star Tours II.
The guidemap for the first weekend of the 2010 Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World resort has now been made available online.
Half the park is split between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire as usual with the Star Wars Weekends merchandise shops finding themselves amongst the Siths. At Boba’s Bounty, one will find merchandise exclusive to the event while Darkside Depot will offer more traditional fare.
Disney Parks has just released this tv ad that’s running in the Orlando market to promote Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios which commences at Walt Disney World this Friday, May 21.
In addition to announcing the personal appearance of R2-MK at Star Wars Weekends this year, Disney Parks has also confirmed closure dates for the Star Tours attraction at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
As we already advised back in March, the attraction is scheduled to close on September 8 with an expected re-opening date of May 20, 2011 in Orlando while the Anaheim version will close much earlier than originally anticipated on July 27 with an expected re-opening date of May 10, 2011.
This year, the SWW merchandise shop (Boba’s Bounty and Dark Side Depot) can be located near the Studio Backlot Tour, across from the Studio Catering Company.
On May 21 and 22 from 10 am – 11 am and 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Kooky pen creator Brent Reese and Disney Design Group Senior Character Artist Cody Reynolds will be on hand to meet guests and sign the newest Kooky pen releases at The Writer’s Stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Each set is limited to a production run of just 5,000 pieces. Kooky Kollection #7 features the heroes of the Disney-Star Wars universe: Mickey as Luke Skywalker, Minnie as Princess Leia & Stitch as Yoda while Kollection #8’s ink goes a tad darker with Goofy as Darth Vader, Donald as Darth Maul & Stitch as the Emperor.
The Walt Disney World Resort and Celebration V (the premiere Star Wars fan event) have announced that in honor of the convention being held in Orlando this year along with the impending makeover of the Star Tours attraction to Star Tours 2 which will take the motion simulator film to a third dimension (and possible ‘multiple destinations’), there will be a special one-night-only event titled ‘Last Tour to Endor’ where Celebration V attendees are being invited to ‘be the first to be the last’ in an exclusive after-hours Star Wars party.
