Disney XD and Lucasfilm today introduced a new character from the ‘Star Wars Rebels’ series, Sabine. Sabine is a key member of the Ghost crew in Star Wars Rebels. As seen in the introduction video embedded below, featuring early design concepts, animation tests, and final art, Sabine is unlike any Star Wars character — especially in her love for blowing things up and tagging her work with graffiti.
Disney XD and Lucasfilm today introduced a new character from the ‘Star Wars Rebels’ series. Zeb is a well-trained honor guard and is highly educated, according to executive producer Dave Filoni, which juxtaposes his brutish, alien appearance. He’s voiced by Steve Blum, who says, ‘He’s got a bit of a chip on his shoulder, hates Chopper and is starting to build a relationship with Ezra, begrudgingly.’
Zeb’s favorite pastime: beating up Stormtroopers, or bucket heads, as he’s heard calling them. He’s an agile fighter, using his hands, feet, and acrobatics. But there is more to Zeb than pounding Imperials. ‘It’s just going to be exciting to develop him and his bizarre new species,’ says Filoni, ‘and to explain to the audience where he came from.’

One of the hotter properties at the 111th Annual International Toy Fair in New York is Disney XD’s and Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars series, ‘Star Wars Rebels.’ Although Lucasfilm has slowly been offering up character reveals and tidbits surrounding the new show, details have been slowly leaking through upcoming products including this 16-month 2015 calendar from Trends International.
The back of the calendar reveals the art for each of the months which either depicts characters engaging in battle, group shots or individual poses which also names them. In chronological order, the reveals/non-reveals are: Ezra, Hera, Chopper, Kanan, Sabine (depicted wearing a helmet as well as not), Inquisitor and Zeb.
Let’s face it — the Emperor can be a real ball buster. So naturally when it comes to cracking nuts, nobody can hold a candle to the Empire’s very own TIE Fighter nutcracker, one of several Star Wars-themed kitchen items being introduced at the 111th Annual International Toy Fair in NYC by importer Underground Toys. Also on the dark side are: espresso mugs which feature portraits and catchy catchphrases like ‘He’s no good to me dead’ and ‘Death Star Canteen / Property of the Empire, do not remove;’ a cutting board in the form of the Death Star; and the ‘Feel the Force’ self-stirring coffee mug.
In ‘Star Wars Rebels, fans will see the rise of the Rebellion through Ezra: a 14-year-old con artist who learns to fight for a greater good. The seemingly-reluctant hero was revealed earlier in a video filled with character concept art, early animation, and creator interviews, which you will find embedded below.
Growing up on his own in the age of the Empire, Ezra has had to rely on his wit and cunning to get by. As voice actor Taylor Gray explains, ‘He’s very street-smart, he’s a pickpocket, he’s a little thief. But he’s doing it all because he needs to survive.’ Executive producer Dave Filoni adds that Ezra is not a bad kid. Although he may enjoy stealing from the Empire, his behavior has been influenced by the world around him — a world that is under Imperial control.
Netflix has announced an exclusive streaming deal for the sixth and final season of the animated series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars.’ The final season, dubbed ‘The Lost Missions’ consists of thirteen episodes and will be available starting March 7, 2014 in both the United States and Canada.
In addition to the new episodes, Netflix will also exclusively offer the entire series for streaming in addition to the feature film and several ‘director’s cut’ versions of episodes, previously unaired on television. This deal also represents the first time any Star Wars content has been made available to Netflix members via their streaming service.
When Disney acquired Lucasfilm — and the iconic Star Wars property as a result — it became only a matter of time before Star Wars items would hit the shelves at Disney Store and we are pleased to share that time is arriving very soon — very, very soon. But before we get into the details, let’s take a step back and appreciate just how momentous this occasion will be.
Earlier today, at the media preview event at Nuremberg Toy Fair, the world got its first look at Chopper, Disney Channel and Lucasfilm revealed the first look at a brand new character from their upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ a droid named Chopper /aka/ the C1-10P. Disney has graciously provided us with images and behind-the-scenes featurette of Chopper, which you can find embedded below.
Gentle Giant has announced that just in time for Father’s Day 2014, they will be releasing special editions of Jeffrey Brown’s comic Star Wars titles, Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess. The special edition books from Chronicle Books will be accommodated by a limited edition, hand-numbered maquette featuring Darth Vader with his little Luke or Leia, sculpted in author Jeffrey Brown’s style by Gentle Giant artisans. No detail has been spared on the maquettes — a Rebel logo pattern was even added to the tie detail.
