“I’m in the Band,” a music-filled, live-action comedy series for kids and families about a teenager who realizes his wildest dream when he joins his favorite “vintage” rock band, Iron Weasel, will premiere MONDAY, JANUARY 18 (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com. Kicking off the evening is a new episode of the hit series “The Suite Life on Deck” guest starring Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Kurt Warner (6:30 p.m. ET/PT).
Zack, Cody, London, Bailey and Woody are lost at sea in a new one-hour special episode of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Viewers go around the world to the S.S. Tipton’s ports of call during a week-long programming event.
In “Lost At Sea,” Zack, Cody, London, Bailey and Woody find themselves stranded on a deserted island when Woody accidentally hits the release lever on a lifeboat and the gang drifts out to sea. Zack hops into action, putting his survival tactics to use, while London takes it all in stride, believing that they have found a remote five-star resort. When Mr. Moseby realizes that the kids are missing, he sets off on a search to find them.
Disney Channel premieres the second season of the hit comedy series “The Suite Life on Deck,” FRIDAY, AUGUST 7 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT). The new season delivers notable guest stars, including recording artist Jordin Sparks (“American Idol”), Charo (“The Love Boat”), NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, Ed Begley, Jr. (“Living With Ed”) and magician Justin Kredible.
Larramie “Doc” Shaw joins the cast as new character, Marcus Little, a former singing sensation whose career ended when his voice changed, so he’s now making a fresh start at Seven Seas High on the SS Tipton. Shaw starred as Malik Payne on Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne,” for which he received a 2009 NAACP Image Award nomination, the 2009 Young Artist Award and a 2009 NAMIC Vision Award for Best Performance in a Comedy.
Making it the number one network from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm last night, the Disney Channel’s crossover event between Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck and Hannah Montana dominated with a whopping 9.3 million total viewers in 5.8 million households. Disney Channel defeated second-place CBS by over 4 million viewers.
The show became the number one scripted telecast in 2009 in all television in total key demographics of Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 and the number one scripted telecast on cable with total viewers. Only the Super Bowl surpassed the number of Kids 6-11 watching the event in 2009 across [i]all[/i] television. The same records were previously held by the Disney Channel Original Movie, the Princess Protection Program which debuted last month.
“Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana,” the crossover event of summer that intersects three hit series and superstars among kids and tweens, will be presented FRIDAY, JULY 17 (8:00 – 9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The 90-minute telecast stars the casts of Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “The Suite Life on Deck” including stars Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Dylan Sprouse, Cole Sprouse, Brenda Song and Debby Ryan.
On DisneyChannel.com, a “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana Scavenger Hunt Sweepstakes” will be featured, with prizes that include props from “Hannah Montana” (Miley Stewart’s charm ankle bracelet), an SS Tipton life preserver signed by the stars and wands from “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Users can log onto DisneyChannel.com to find a list of scavenger hunt items, and then tune in to Disney Channel every night at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT beginning Sunday, July 12 through Friday, July 17 to identify them.
