An instant* success (* just add water!), the game went on to introduce several free expansion packs, two variants of gameplay and spinoff apps including ‘Where’s My Water? FREE’ and ‘Where’s My Perry?,’ based on the popular Disney television series, ‘Phineas and Ferb.’ Before long, an entire line of plush and other collectibles were introduced and the loveable reptile is set to star in his own web series before long.
To celebrate the momentous occasion and many milestones of WMW?, Disney Interactive has released this infographic through its brand new tumblr blog. In addition to the game’s many accomplishments, the timeline continues beyond today, teasing both the web series as well as a new ‘black & white’ mode, said to be inspired by Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. In addition, a recent update to the paid version includes a special birthday bonus level (tap the cake on the main screen).
After topping the iTunes app charts for months, what is Swampy the Gator from the Disney Mobile franchise, ‘Where’s My Water?’ going to do next? He’s going to Walt Disney World, of course! Maybe sneaking in a bath or two first though.
Disney Parks has quietly launched SWAMPYATDISNEY.COM, a mobile mini-site that shares the above image along with the following teaser:
For the first time Swampy is leaving his subterranean home for a vacation in the human world. There were a lot of water parks to choose from, but Swampy has settled on two of the crown jewels: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach at the vacation capital of the human world, Walt Disney World. Humans haven’t made it very easy for alligators to travel freely, but Swampy is finding that getting there is at least part of the fun!
Rumors of a meet and greet character version of Swampy have been swirling about for months, but this is a pretty good suggestion from an official source that he is coming. Sources have indeed confirmed to us that costuming has created a character costume for Swampy and that whispers of what amounts to a ‘publicity stunt’ have been traded amongst the inner circles at the Walt Disney World Resort, so expect to hear more about this event soon. Blizzard Beach has offered meet and greet opportunities in the past with its mascot, Ice Gator, whom Swampy is sure to get along with swimmingly.
The site also makes mention of the Typhoon Lagoon-inspired hidden level in Where’s My Water? FREE. The hidden level is called ‘Waterslide’ and can be accessed through the Collection screen in the game by scrolling down and tapping on the life preserver (thanks to @WillD79). Another hidden level, ‘Ups and Downs,’ can be found on the same screen by scrolling upwards and clicking on the arrow. The same level can be found in the paid version of Where’s My Water? on the Collection screen, while clicking on the sun after scrolling down will reveal ‘Good Morning’ as featured on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America.’

You really have to hand it to Disney Interactive Studios’ mobile games unit. It would have been quite acceptable enough to have simply released ‘Where’s My Water?’ and left it at that and it would still stand today as a shining example as to how mobile apps should be made.
Yet they didn’t. In the three months that followed the game’s initial release on the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (and subsequently Android devices), Disney released three expansion packs — sixty new levels, each offering a unique element of play, all at no additional cost. Not to mention ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ which doled out a few surprises of its own.
In the fourth month, however, Disney didn’t release a free expansion pack. Instead, it debuted a whole new form of game play which features Cranky, the nemesis to hero Swampy. An in-app purchase of $.99 unlocks all 40 levels of ‘Cranky’s Story’ (the first five levels are included free in the app’s update) and the real fun and hysteria begins.
In the included chapters, ‘Cranky’s First Course’ and ‘Hunger Pains,’ players learn quick that for all the similarities shared between Swampy and Cranky, there are just as many differences, if not more. For starters, Cranky does not like his water clean, nor does he enjoy the occasional bath. Instead, Cranky wants to eat. And eat. And eat. The only problem is that his meals are covered in algae so it’s up to the player to deliver the poisoned water down the pipe to uncover the finest delicacies the sewer has to offer. Like Swampy, Cranky likes ducks — Cranky ducks. Instead of filling ducks up with water (which are poison to Cranky ducks), the Cranky ducks are filled with poison.
Cranky is more interested in eating collectibles than he is in keeping them, so collectibles don’t exist on his side of the pipes. Instead, bonus levels are unlocked by completing challenges. For the most part, the challenges incorporate the classic Swampy levels, but turn them on their side to introduce all new ways of experiencing individual levels.
Beyond that, the game play is more or less on par with the original. Water, poison, ooze and steam all come into play as do their chemical reactions. And therein lies the added bonus: because players are already familiar with the liquids and objects, the levels waste no time in immersing the player with new puzzles which happen to include nods to their classic counterparts in some cases. I actually found many of the levels to be far more challenging this time around and thus more gratifying when solving. Cranky’s challenges were also a welcome twist. In short, the additional $.99 is the only no-brainer here. The total cost of $1.98 for what ‘Where’s My Water?’ offers is an absolute bargain, especially if Disney continues to treat its customers like gold.
As usual, we have produced video walk-throughs of the new chapters for ‘Cranky’s Story’ which are embedded below.

It’s what the well-dress reptilian video game character lover will be wearing this season. Mighty Fine has debuted its own line of tees featuring Swampy from Disney’s popular Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android game ‘Where’s My Water?’
Along with the ‘Ducks in a Row‘ tee featured here, Mighty Fine also has a logo tee and a stylish, quasi-retro tonal logo tee available. Each of the men’s tees are 100% cotton and come in a range of colors in sizes ranging from Small through 3X.
Also still are available are the line of ‘Where’s My Water?’ swampy tees for men, women, girls and boys from DisneyStore.com.
With over 27,000 votes and an obscenely rare perfect rating on the Apple AppStore (even for apps with a fraction of that count), it’s pretty evident that all the world loves Swampy and his physics-puzzler, ‘Where’s My Water?’ from Disney Mobile. Thus when news of an original web-series featuring Swampy, girlfriend Ally, and the rest of the residents of the sewer broke, the response was more of a sigh of relief than shock.
But before the series makes its debut in early 2012, we have news of another spin-off venture featuring Swampy the Alligator: the wonderful world of merchandise. Beginning today, DisneyStore.com is offering three adult tees which allow fans to wear their affection for the game. To view and order the new merchandise, visit DisneyStore.com and enter ‘Where’s My Water’ in the ‘what are you searching for?’ box.
If the current offerings aren’t enough to whet (or should we say wet?) your appetite, you can also employ official images of Swampy, Ally and the rubber ducks on any customizable product from DisneyStore.com via their agreement with Zazzle.
As we announced yesterday, Disney Interactive did not disappoint when it introduced its third expansion to the amazingly popular ‘Where’s My Water?‘ app for Apple iOS and Android devices. Disney Mobile announced today that ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ is now available on the App Store for Apple iOS devices, Android Market and Amazon Appstore for Android. ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ features 25 exclusive levels, in addition to another two hidden levels.
Disney Mobile is also kicking off a special promotion, ‘The 10 Days of Swampy,’ in which for 10 days, beginning today, players can unlock a new level of the ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ app each day. Players who ‘Tri-Duck’ all of the new levels are immediately rewarded with ‘Swampy’s Picks,’ five of the best levels from the paid version of the game. In addition, players will be surprised with free wallpapers on January 1st, regardless of having completed the new levels.
Where’s My Water? Free stars Swampy the Alligator, Disney’s first original character for mobile in more than 25 puzzles where players guide water through subterranean layers of earth, rock, and broken pipes, and into Swampy’s bathtub. ‘Where’s My Water? Free’ is sponsored by Zappos.com, whose brand has been integrated into the game through a series of in-game collectibles that unlock an additional bonus level.
The premium version, available for both iOS and Android, was also updated today with 20 new levels. In ‘Stretched Thin,’ the newest chapter in the story of Swampy the Alligator, water balloons have made their way to Swampy’s neighborhood, and players must clear a path and use their expert timing skills to tap and pop the balloons to release water at the right moment. ‘Stretched Thin’ features 20 new levels of challenging gameplay, in addition to new collectibles.
Since launching on the App Store on September 22, ‘Where’s My Water?‘ has become a favorite amongst critics and gamers alike, reaching the No. 1 spot on the App Store in 30 different countries and maintaining a 5-star App Store rating.
Swampy the Gator’s perpetual quest for a bath in Disney Interactive’s ‘Where’s My Water?’ app for Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android devices caused some temperatures to rise yesterday as 20 new levels were introduced. The second update of its kind since the game’s release just a couple of months ago, ‘Boiling Point’ introduces the element of steam to the game along with new physics to tease players through the additional levels.
In the update, steam rises and has the ability to pass through algae and turn back to water when hitting icy patches located throughout the complicated sewer system. In addition to the elements introduced in Chapter Six, the new levels also continue to take advantage of elements introduced in the second update, Chapter Five: Change is Good, in which elements such as the poison, ooze, water (and now steam) can be converted into other elements when needed to solve the various puzzles.
Also returning in the game’s update is the developers’ uncanny sense of humor. Level 6-17, titled ‘Jumping Gigawatts!’ pays homage to the 1985 classic, Back to the Future, with its initial layout taking inspiration from the DeLorean’s flux capacitor. Also returning are some very interesting alligator-interpretations of every day human ‘collectibles,’ such as the ‘all terrain marker.’
As usual, we have produced an exclusive video walk-thru of all 20 levels in ‘Boiling Point’ as well as both additional bonus levels. The video guide will assist you in getting all 3 ducks (tri-duck) in each level as well as each of the collectibles required to play the bonus levels.
You can find all of our video walk-thrus for the previous chapters in the game on our YouTube channel.
