According to promotional materials obtained by Stitch Kingdom, Disney Television Animation’s Tangled spin-off series, ‘Tangled Before Ever After,’ is set to premiere in February 2017. Actually, a ‘tentpole’ event (likely an extended episode/movie) is slated to premiere in February while the series itself is planned for a June 2017 start. Granted it’s still early and this has not been officially announced, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
What is official, however, is word from executive producer Chris Sonnenburg has created his own Tumblr account since the most recent casting announcement and promises to not only acknowledge how Rapunzel reclaimed her long hair in the series, but has plans to actually explain it.
Joining Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in ‘Tangled: Before Ever After,’ Disney Channel’s upcoming animated series for kids, tweens and families based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ acclaimed feature film, are: Ashley Judd as Rapunzel’s mother Queen Arianna; Broadway star Eden Espinosa as Rapunzel’s handmaiden and confidant, Cassandra; comedian Jeff Ross as Hook Hand’s brother Hook Foot; and Richard Kind as Uncle Monty.
Just ahead of Disney’s D23 Expo taking place this weekend in Anaheim, California, Disney Store has released product images and new details for its upcoming collection debuting at the convention, the ‘Good vs Evil’ Fairytale Designer Collection.
Consisting of five sets of dolls: Elsa and Hans of Frozen; Ursula and Ariel of The Little Mermaid; Snow White and the Old Hag of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; Rapunzel and Mother Gothel of Tangled; and Captain Hook and Peter Pan of Peter Pan, the collection as a whole as an edition size of 6,000 globally. The dolls will first be available for pre-order at D23 Expo as a collection and will presumably be available individually on a release schedule to be announced later.
‘Tangled: The Musical,’ which will immerse audiences in Rapunzel’s fairytale world through lavish production numbers and spellbinding music, will debut aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic beginning in November 2015, it was announced today. Three new songs created exclusively for this show by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater will bring the story to life onstage. Stitch Kingdom first reported on the new musical back in September 2014.
First announced by Alan Menken during a press call ahead of his 2013 D23 Expo performance, it appears that the staged musical adaptation of Tangled will be making its Disney Cruise Line debut in May of 2015. The news was prompted by several casting calls announced on Disney’s official auditions calendar, which states that it is casting for an opening company with rehearsals to begin in January 2015 and to conclude in mid-May. As with most Disney Parks and Resorts entertainment, the show is being produced by Imagineering’s Disney Creative Entertainment division and will be directed by Gordon Greenberg, choreographed by Connor Gallagher, with Ed Whitlow as artistic and production director.

Debuting in March 2014 (with a rumored date of March 16, 2014 to be precise), the ‘Disney Festival of Fantasy,’ will be the new daytime parade at the Magic Kingdom. To celebrate the new entertainment, Walt Disney World has provided us with full details on the floats and costumes that will be featured in the parade.
Earlier this month and under cover of darkness, Walt Disney World cast members and crew escorted several of the floats down the road in the middle of the night. The floats in this magical caravan include a 53-foot-long steampunk-inspired Maleficent Dragon from the 1959 Disney animated classic, Sleeping Beauty, a Fantasia-themed balloon and gondola for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a giant Brave bagpipe, and a Peter Pan float featuring Skull Rock and Captain Hook’s The Jolly Roger pirate ship.
