Following the initial ratings success of Marvel Television’s ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ airing on ABC, Marvel Entertainment, LLC has launched the first wave of official licensed merchandise inspired by the series co-created by Marvel’s The Avengers director Joss Whedon. To meet fan demand, Marvel has unveiled a range of ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ consumer products including T-shirts, accessories, and posters which are immediately available for purchase at ABC.com, Marvel.com, Hot Topic and other specialty retailers.
ABC and Facebook are partnering to bring real-time social conversations to the television screen, as ABC will be the first entertainment network to integrate Facebook’s newest tools for broadcast partners on primetime television with the season premiere of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tonight at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.
Facebook will be bringing the conversations already taking place about ‘Dancing with the Stars’ online to the TV screen by enabling the audience to see how many people on Facebook are talking about the contestants, where the couples are generating the most buzz, whether they’re more popular among males or females, and where their fans live. Real-time conversations about the show from Facebook users will be displayed during the broadcast.

ABC Family scares up the 2013 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN celebration, with programming filled with scares and frights as you countdown to Halloween. The popular programming event, now in its 15th year, starting Saturday, October 19th, and concludes on Thursday, October 31st, features a brand new episode of “Pretty Little Liars” and the highly anticipated premiere of spinoff series “Ravenswood.” The stunt will also include the ABC Family feature film premiere of “Men in Black,” the network premiere of “Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story OF TERROR!,” and a ghoulish mix of Halloween-themed programming airing for the 13 nights leading up to Halloween.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Never Land Rescue’ will be coming to DVD on November 19, following its television debut on Disney Channel at 6 pm ET/PT on September 29. The special marks the first appearance of Tinker Bell on the popular Disney Junior series. ABC Family will produce three new comedy pilots, ‘Mystery Girls,’ ‘Work Mom’ and ‘Young & Hungry,’ it was announced today by Michael Riley, President, ABC Family. These orders join the pick-ups announced earlier this year including the back-order greenlight of ‘The Fosters’ and ‘Twisted,’ the third season of ‘Switched at Birth’ and ‘Baby Daddy’ and the fourth season of ‘Melissa & Joey.’
‘We have seen great success with our comedy series and look to grow our comedy offerings. These pilots offer a great mix of humor and iconic characters,’ said Kate Juergens, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development and Chief Creative Officer, ABC Family.
Guests at the D23 Expo will be among the first to see the highly anticipated one-hour drama Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Sunday, August 11 at 3:00 p.m. in the D23 Expo Arena. Marvel’s Head of Television & Series executive producer Jeph Loeb will introduce the screening, taking place during the ultimate Disney fan event, August 9 – 11, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Production has begun on the animated series “Miles From Tomorrowland,” a space adventure for preschoolers. Slated to debut in 2015 on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks around the world, the series follows the outer space voyages of young adventurer Miles and his family. The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.
Kanter said, “We hope this series will influence a child’s interest in science and technology by introducing them at an early age to the exciting world of space exploration, how things work and what lies beyond the here and now.”
