Walt DisneyPBS and the American Experience series have announced that they will premiere a new four hour, 2 night film titled Walt Disney in fall of 2015. Written by Mark Zwonitzer  and produced and directed by Sarah Colt, the film features rare archival footage from the Disney vaults, scenes from some of Disney’s greatest films and includes interviews with animators and artists who worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Imagineers who helped design Disneyland.

WATCH: ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Extended Trailer; Debuts October 2014

'Star Wars Rebels' Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Lucasfilm has just released an extended trailer for its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ which will debut as a one hour special on Disney XD in October.

The Jedi have been wiped out and the Empire spreads tyranny through the galaxy. Hope runs thin. But on the small planet of Lothal a big change is looming. A group of rebels meet a 14-year-old con artist named Ezra and soon it’s clear their destinies are linked. Aboard their ship, the Ghost, Ezra and the rebels embark on an adventure to ignite a rebellion and strike back against the Empire.

'Star Wars Rebels Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy'Admittedly as much as we try, it’s darn next to impossible — actually probably right on top of impossible — to keep up with every single detail of every single project under the Disney umbrella — though we try! That’s why it came as a bit of a shock to us when we saw this cover for an upcoming 176-page original novel titled ”Star Wars Rebels Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy’ based on the upcoming Disney XD series.

Disney Orders ‘Haunted Mansion’ Animated Special, New Animated Pilots and Series (Details)

Disney Television Animation is in development on ‘Haunted Mansion,’ a special for Disney Channel and Disney XD inspired by the popular Disney Parks attraction. Legendary horror genre artist and children’s book illustrator Gris Grimly is attached to executive produce and art direct with Scott Peterson executive producing, story editing and writing and Joshua Pruett consulting producing and writing, both of ‘Phineas and Ferb.’

The television animation studio continues to add to its deep roster of world-class artists and creators with three pilots and a new short-form series from Aaron Springer, Jhonen Vasquez and Jenny Goldberg, Jesse LeDoux and Matt Olsen and Ryan Quincy, all currently in production for Disney XD. The studio has also extended an overall deal with Emmy Award-winning ‘Phineas and Ferb’ co-creator and executive producer Dan Povenmire for development on new projects.

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Character Reveal: Agent Kallus

(DISNEY XD) AGENT KALLUSYesterday, Lucasfilm introduced a new character from its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ — Agent Kallus, an Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) agent. Voiced by David Oyelowo, Kallus is described a ‘ruthless, unforgiving, and an example of the Empire’s tyranny.’ Also described as a ‘rebel hunter,’ Kallus’ position is on the ground, leading stormtroopers in face-to-face battles against anti-Imperial groups — and his combat skills are impressive, including the use of a modified version of Zeb’s honor guard staff.

SDCC: ABC Announces Panels, Floor Activities Plus ‘Toy Story that Time Forgot’ Preview

ABC will be bringing star power to Comic-Con 2014 with returning fan favorites ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ as well as hit series ‘Resurrection,’ upcoming holiday special ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’ and highly anticipated midseason series ‘Marvel’s Agent Carter.’

On Thursday, July 24, ABC and Pixar Animation Studios will give fans a first-look sneak peek with a panel on the original holiday special, ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot.’ Go inside the show as the panelists give you an exclusive inside-look at the sketches, storyboards and concepts that went into the making of this Disney•Pixar special! Join producer Galyn Susman (‘Toy Story OF TERROR!’), director Steve Purcell (‘Brave’) and head of story Derek Thompson (‘WALL•E’) for a moderated Q&A panel from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in Room 6A, followed by a special autograph session from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the ABC Castle on the Convention Center Floor, booth #4245.

‘Bad Hair Day’ Disney Channel Original Movie to Premiere in 2015

Laura Marano and Leigh-Allyn Baker team up to star in the comedic buddy adventure Bad Hair Day, a Disney Channel Original Movie scheduled to premiere in 2015. Leigh-Allyn Baker makes her foray into producing as executive producer of the movie.

Marano stars as a high school tech whiz who’s bound and determined to be crowned prom queen. But on the big day, everything that can go wrong does go wrong, starting with her sudden and epically uncontrollable hair and her once lovely yet now destroyed prom dress. She soon comes to rely on a down-on-her-luck cop (Baker) who’s in pursuit of a missing necklace that the teen unwittingly has in her possession. Prom day goes from bad to mad as the pair is pursued by a dogged jewel thief on a wild ride across the city. Christian Campbell has been cast as the jewel thief.

Disney’s ‘Descendants’ Prequel, ‘Isle of the Lost,’ to be Penned by Melissa de la Cruz; Available May 2015

Disney's DescendantsDisney Publishing Worldwide today announced it will be publishing a prequel to the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendantstitled Isle of the Lost. It will be written by bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz, whose previous titles include The Witches of East End and Blue Bloods. It will be available in hardcover on May 5, 2015.

Legend has it that long ago, the most infamous villains were imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, cut off from the rest of the world as a punishment for their misdeeds. In this dark and dreary place, the likes of Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil and the Evil Queen reside and evil reigns supreme. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are their descendants, the teenaged sons and daughters of the Isle’s most villainous characters, and they are coming of age on the Isle of the Lost.

‘Pickle & Peanut’ to Premiere on Disney XD in 2015

Pickle & PeanutDisney Television Animation has begun production on ‘Pickle & Peanut,’ a buddy-comedy series about two unlikely friends – an emotional pickle and a freewheeling peanut – voiced by Jon Heder and Johnny Pemberton respectively.

Scheduled for a fall 2015 premiere on Disney XD, ‘Pickle & Peanut’ employs an innovative mix of 2-D animation and live-action clips to tell the small-town adventures of two underdogs who dream up plans to be anything but ordinary. The series was created by Noah Z. Jones and developed by Joel Trussell. Both Jones and Trussell serve as executive producers. Mark Rivers is the story editor.
