Echoing news we broke on Twitter last week, ABC Television has announced it will air a new Marvel-themed special, ‘Marvel: Pulp to Pop’ on Tuesday, November 4 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. Allowing viewers to experience an exciting journey through the 75 year history of the Marvel Universe, from its humble beginnings as Timely Comics in 1939 to the birth of The Marvel Age in the 1960s, and finally the cinematic blockbusters of today the special will be hosted by Marvel’s own Agent 13, Emily VanCamp, who also stars in the ABC Studios drama, ‘Revenge.’
Production has begun on ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,’ an upcoming animated-television series for Disney XD, featuring the hugely popular characters introduced in the record-breaking Marvel Studios film of the same name. The announcement was made today by Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, at New York Comic-Con. Produced by Marvel Television, the series stars Peter Quill as Star-Lord, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits – fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid named Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer. The series will premiere in 2015 on the Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD.
ABC Studios has released some new behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming ‘Once Upon A Time’ episode, ‘Rocky Road,’ which will premiere on ABC on Sunday, October 12 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ — the next primetime special for the Disney Junior animated hit, which will air on October 26 — will be available to own on DVD on January 6, 2015. Now available for pre-order.
When Wendy’s special Storybook is stolen by Captain Hook, Jake and his mates go to London to help Peter Pan’s friend (from the classic movie Peter Pan). The longer the book is out of Wendy’s hands, the more she and her brothers (John and Michael) forget about their past adventures on Never Land. The battle for the book continues in Never Land, where Hook plans to destroy the book and its stories in the legendary Ring of Blue Fire. It’s up to our young heroes to save Wendy’s Storybook and the Story of Peter Pan!
One day ahead of a highly anticipated television premiere, Disney Channels Worldwide President and Chief Creative Officer, Gary Marsh, announced plans to produce a second season of the animated series “Star Wars Rebels” from Lucasfilm.
Marsh said, “The global expectations for this series could not have been any higher. And I am proud to say that the team at Lucasfilm has delivered something that has surpassed even that incredibly high bar – artistically and thematically.”
Jake and his crew of kid pirates take flight over London in Disney Junior’s ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ a primetime special premiering Sunday, October 26 at 6:00 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. Beloved Disney heritage characters Wendy, John and Michael Darling make their series debut in the music-filled special, with Maia Mitchell (Disney Channel’s ‘Teen Beach Movie’ and ABC Family’s ‘The Fosters’) voicing the role of Wendy and performing new original song ‘Once Upon A Time.’ Peter Pan and Tinker Bell will also appear.
ABC Family today announced the network has picked up its first procedural drama ‘Stitchers’ to series and has ordered a second season of new comedy series ‘Young & Hungry.’
‘Stitchers’ is a procedural drama series written by Jeffrey A. Schechter. ‘Stitchers’ follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be ‘stitched’ into the minds of the recently deceased using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. The pilot was written by Jeffrey A. Schechter, who will executive produce alongside Jonathan Baruch and Rob Wolken.
New York Comic-Con and ABC Studios have just announced that a special screening and panel will be offered on Friday, October 10, from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm on the Empire Stage. The panel’s official description is as follows:

The special features interviews with executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to help tell the story of ‘Once Upon a Time: Storybrooke Has Frozen Over,’ airing on Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.
